I don't know why but the word "partner" always irked me. It makes it sound too formal and like business partner or something. You don't hear that word from straight couples that often but that seems to be exclusively gay in most cases. :P

Not necessarily, I bet tons of cowboys mean it in a casual way. lol  :P

Yes, to be a parent you must either be one of the people to biologically create the child or married to one of those two people. The only exception I can think of is adoption, but I highly doubt Eamon is adopted since his father is still alive.

Okay, then what would you call someone that takes a crucial role in helping to raise a child based upon good values, love and respect and a sense of right and wrong, one that was likely there for several years of their development?  Someone that loves this child like their own, and who the child loves back just as much?

I figure it like this.  If Arl sees himself as having two dads, and the writers do as well, that's enough for me.  The rest is semantics.

So apparently Martha and Jonathon Kent were not Clark's parents. Good to know.

what if he was a Foundling or Adopted they are still his parents.

I already addressed adoption as the exception, but considering his father is still alive and raising him, him being adopted is ridiculous.

Guardian, caretaker, there are several words.

Did Alfred become Buce's father after his parent's died? No. Alfred was Bruce's guardian.

Good for you.

It probably isn't worth debating about.  There is going to be a plot important NPC that has come from the home of a gay couple.  That's awesome.  :D

Love and upbringing trumps any sort of official or legal title IMO.

If Bruce considers Alfred his dad, then he is. My parents are married, my father was present...but due to certain issues, that needn't be discussed here, I don't consider him my dad. He is my father. I share half my genes and my name with him. That is who he is to me.

I wish it had been Kinky Boots. :(

You know guys, I think we're just gonna have to agree to disagree about the terms.  Call it what you will, I'm happy to see it in DA:I.  :D

Back on topic, is there any particular type of warrior you all would like for you KISA?  A Templar more like Cullen?  A Seeker like Cassandra?  A Knight Commander like a non-crazy version of Meredith?  A Grey Warden, with all of the burdens and weights that could come with it?

I said earlier I'd like a Templar, but I'm going to change my mind (just a smidge)

For a woman, I want a Templar. Knight Commander would be a bit much, as it would be like taking a first Enchanter from a Circle.

For a man, I want an Ash Warrior, complete with a Mabari hound. Even make the hound part of his romance/friendship meter or whatever (you behavior toward the hound influences how he sees you).

I'm partial to either a Grey Warden or a military soldier (like Ser Cuthrien). I'm not a fan of religion and the other options are all based from religious organizations.

Too bad the only Grey Warden that isn't straight in the canon left the Wardens and...isn't exactly beloved by Thedas at the moment.  Not to mention saying his name in certain threads leads to 25 pages of fighting and debates over the cahracter.

I honestly thought that Blackwall was going to be the bisexual male option, not the Iron Bull.  He just seemed like he could have been perfect for that, and plus being much closer to the KISA type.  Sometimes it feels like the DA team is trying to take the safest route possible, with mixed effect.

Any one of those, I'd be good with.  A chevalier would work as well. Again, those might be controversial for some fans, but I'm okay with that.

If the next DA game takes place further North, then maybe we'd see a knight equivalent from nations that we don't know much about yet-  like Nevarra or the Northern FreeMarches, or the Anderfells. I don't think Antiva has much of an army, and Rivain is heavily influenced by the Qun.

I'd really like a Templar or Seeker. Preferably a kind and nice one, and maybe not as aggressive as Cass. Cass is great friend material, just not love interest, in my eyes.

I'd love to have a soldier! Maybe a General or maybe a Chevalier!

And I feel like my perfect GW ideal has already passed me by......

damn you Blackwall
