I was only gone for a few hours?  What happened to this thread?

As much as I love a good horse hung pun, I just can't get into centaurs (or naga or mermen).  Any guy whose lower half isn't human is missing a very important anatomical structure for me.  That's why I'm okay with sticking with orcs.  They still have got the goods that I'm looking for in the appropriate places.

No, I like to be a Pokemon master.

Still, it would be cool if we have orc in DA series though. I like them over qunari anyday, especially how they make qunari look more like humans in DAI, I prefer DA2 qunari overall though. It makes them look more unique.

something about a big tough guy having self-esteem issues about his body makes me fawn like a mofo...

but i dont think people have the '' luxury '' in thedas to worry about their bodies much when it comes to '' do i look hot or nah?! ''

it would be such an endearing trait for a gay KISA to have but it really wouldnt fit the whole universe lmao (injecting rl (societal) problems to a fantasy world is very dangerous, a la dorian and the homophobia/gay conversion bit), BUT ITS STILL SWEET

so anyway, here's some dorian reassuring bull that he is great just the way he is (nsfw, no dicks but nudity)

Oh, I'd LOVE to see a guy with self-esteem/body image issues. I said it like twenty pages back, that hits home for me, given the way that the gay community only really accepts you if you fit into certain molds, which I don't with any.

Actually, it might be able to work within the confines of the setting if we have someone who is from a family of (in broad terms) warrior class but doesn't have the skill or aptitude for it, so they take up the rogue skills, going for the stealth and precision over 'hit it til it bleeds.'

I mean, it would kinda disqualify them as a KNIGHT in shining armor, but maybe as the second option?

Werewolves make me think of Tyler Hoechlin.

Throw them having feeling of general displacement/unease around other gays for, reasons.., too. I think that would really hit home for lots of gay people since the community is basically one giant stacking cup tower, yeah. Hell, it would probably hit home for lots of people in general.

If that were true; I'd probaly be on the bottom somewhere. I'm not a very social person to be honest.

Mmmmm... Hoechlin. It's not even the abs, his face and smile are so gorgeous.

But yeah, that would be neat. Doesn't even have to say anything about his warrior abilities, there are a lot of guys who are chubby when they train solely for strength. A gay KISA who fights for a cause, but doubts he is supposed to be the one representing it, because he thinks people would not respect him and take him seriously because of his looks is a great character to create.

That would resonate with a huge number of gay men. They would need to make a body model especially for him, but I think it would be worth it. Bull was close to it, but his alpha male attitude wouldn't work with it.

Even this guy, who is rather muscle heavy than chubby would be far from what we usually see in BW games (although I did imagine Hawke was more like this)

NSFW for nudity, not parts (another Marccus work, because I love his style)

That's hot.

If BW decided to make such a character, they'd have to be careful though. It could be used as a reason why the '' KISA '' has been avoiding relationships and intimacy. For instance: '' If I loved a man, and wanted all the best for him, why should I be the one to claim him? He can do much better than me.. for instance I'm not much to look at, why should I not let him find someone who he finds attractive? Well, it's not as if I could claim anyone anyway.. ''

Okay, maybe that's a bad example, but you get what I'm saying anyway.

My favorite relationship trope is '' beauty and the beast '' and ESPECIALLY '' small beauty and the big beast. '' I'd love for the romance to have an option to confess how much you love everything about the gay KISA you are in love with, especially if you could comment how handsome and sexy he is if he would bring up how I could do better since he isn't attractive at all. I'd make the sexiest, handsomest man to romance him with tbh, it'd be amazing!

Would that really be a KISA anymore though? Well, the KISA could be a KISA outside the first steps of the romance, that's really no problem. But when the relationship develops, he gains confidence and takes control, and the fears of rejection and/or holding me back from finding something better would convert to nothing but love and bliss.

I don't think the problem is that Bioware has any problem creating fatter body type, it's more like the resource thing. All the humans share the same body type to save resource. Even old characters when stripped naked have the same body as a young person. For games like ME and DA, they have a lot of body types for different races they have to account for, so different body types for the same humans are not very budget friendly. Plus, with Bioware, they create characters first and then giving them sexuality, I would say Dorian is an exception to the rule, but overall, all the characters are already created beforehand before handing out sexuality. This is why it's important to bring stereotype thing to them beforehand, so that they don't usually attribute the stereotypical personality for gay characters.

Haha Disney tainted our minds for ever. Although I did find his human form kinda terrible (Disney's idea of male beauty has always been so limited), the story lost its impact when it changed from "there's far more to love about someone than their outer beauty" into, apparently, "be nice to someone everyone thinks is ugly, they might turn out to be hot." But, off topic.

Anyway, I don't see how a KISA thinking he's undeserving of love somehow would not fit into the trope. Both self worth issues and KISA are things almost never explored with gay men, and mixing them would not make them contradict each other, but create a layered, nuanced character. A knight character who never doubts himself in any way wouldn't probably be satisfying to write.

Oh I'm well aware of the fact that they're reusing one model for financial reasons. That's why I said it would be worth it. Creating a different body for one sex scene would be wasting resources. Doing it for story reasons would be easier to defend. And they did it for Bull (I don't remember any Qunari reusing his model or clothes in the base game, except maybe the Inq, but with different clothes), they could do it for another character.

I think Iron Bull has a unique body, but they don't have to modify the body as much as making unique armors for him. Plus, it was so that we could have a Qunari character, having a fat character would essentially still be a human. Though, if there was any unique human in the game with their own body type, I suspect that it would be Maevaris since she couldn't use the human male body, so there's a clear reason to make a unique body type for her. Especially since we're going to Tevinter.

Maevaris is still not confirmed as a companion, so we'll have to wait and see what the approach is. One thing to consider is that a lot of assets are already there. DA4 will be cheaper to develop compared to 3, because the mechanics and assets are done, and it will use a slightly updated version of Frostbite (especially since they have a rolling update system, and DAI actually used Frostbite 3.2 or 3.3, not 3.0). Since the models will be at most just refreshed, it frees up some time to do custom bodies. At least I hope so. Least they could do is add body hair.

I seem to recall reading somewhere that body sliders were considered for Inquisition but had to be cut for time or something (don't quote me on that though, it might just be wishful thinking), so since they're supposed to be sticking to the Frostbite engine, maybe they'll be able to incorporate those into DA4.

There would be a big problem with clipping into kissing and hugging scenes and sex scenes. I wonder how they would go about that.

That was probably the issue they had with them and why they were cut from Inquisition. But give them time to work around it, they could potentially do something. Like the problem is always in how long an issue takes to fix, and since the previous games have all been on entirely different engines, their developers have to learn the tricks all over again each time. Keep the engine consistent, like they've said they're doing with the Frostbite engine, they get time to figure out the workarounds and such.
