If a straight person turns gay, it could be that he's always gay and pretended to be straight to fit in with society (I know a few who are like that and dating girls), it's not that he was straight, it's that he's gay but pretended to be straight. I don't see logical reasoning for someone to be straight and pretend to be gay. 

 

Kaidan was awesome, but it's clear that Bioware intended for him to be straight since all the scenes in ME3 are just female Shep's cutscenes with male Shepard in it considering the number of scenes being removed when comparing the 2.

I was more thinking a Cass/Cauthrien mix for the lesbian/bisexual ladies but the dash of dragon slaying badassery (not sure if word but using it anyway) for all sounds about perfect.

Markus is very old, so his younger brother could be 70 for all we know.  Unless there is some lore concerning his age?

Just thought I'd drop in and say that this thread is awesome! Thank you sandalisthemaker and various contributors. 

 

Diversity, in romanceable characters or just in general, is something I am always behind 100%. And while I think Bioware has made great strides this time around, it does seem like they gravitate towards similar tropes for their LGBT+ characters. What with most of them being morally ambiguous/edgy and/or promiscuous and what-not.

 

It would be really awesome to see a gay or bi (male or female) KISA (sweet acronym btw) in the next DA game. More variety is always a great goal to strive for. (Also being courted by a hot gallant dude is alway a plus  .)

 

And consider me totally on board with the badass dragon slayer character concept.

Oh definitely. The Pentaghast family is freakin' enormous. And yet for some reason lol, they can't find a person to sit on the damn throne.

More like to appease to the gays which hasn't had one in like 2 whole games. As much as I love Kaidan, I was annoyed by the half-ass effort of Kaidan's scenes which is female Shep's scenes with less content. They don't have to make new romance if they use Kaidan. He's also very unpopular, so there's no risk associated with making him as opposed to someone like Garrus a bisexual. 2 of the gay characters being added are just NPC. Could have had someone like James Vega to be a gay LI since that means they have to make new content instead of copy and paste. ME is awesome, but I feel more like the higher up or fan pressure that make them add the gay contents, not that they want to do it themselves.

My brother felt the same way about Kaidan and ended up preferring Cortez.  They essentially recycled most the dialogue for femShep/Kaidan.  They should have had their own dialogue. It would have felt far more real

Seriously, more strong women of greater diversity would be wonderful. I like the steps BioWare has taken and look forward to them doing more in future.
