Yeah, I remember, it was just a typo, but I'm just too lazy to fix it.Prodigy is bi, he even used that term specifically. But yeah, everyone else is implied to be queer, although Kate doesn't seem to have realized it yet.

I think Noh craves intimacy because he's so alone, and he uses sex sometimes to get that. Idk if you read Dark Avengers, but his relationship with Karla there is partially what gave me that vibe.
America is the best :3
Kid/teen Loki is always my favorite though, even though he's the ultimate shifty bisexual, lol. He's just fun!!
Oh, I haven't read anything with Noh outside of Young Avengers, so maybe it's just that I'm missing context.

OK, very intrigued now. Can anyone recommend a good starting point for Young Avengers? I kind of hate of reading things out of sequence so the sheer volume of material with comics has always scarred me off. Feel free to PM if people don't want to go too far OT.

Hadn't realized that - price may be an issue as well! ![]()

Young Avengers vol 1
Young Avengers Children's Crusade
Young Avengers vol 2
The series has a greater tie to the main series than most people would believe. If it wasn't for Children's Crusade, the entire world would have been destroyed by Cyclops.
There are other mini series, but they are all tie in and you have to read other series to understand it like with Civil War.

Its a bit easier for comics to try diversity than it is games though, so the real test is not will they create those characters, but will they stick with them? Plenty of minority characters have been benched or killed off. Only time will tell!

There was a scene of this between him and Zatanna in the first series of Justice League Dark. It was a pretty cool visual.

But I do see some genuine effort, at least with Ms Marvel, Captain Marvel (she has ridiculously low sales and they are keeping her AND giving her a movie), Sam, and Luke.

Gah, stupid time zones - nice discussions (with people who aren't asking for a gay toggle) always seem to happen as its getting late here. Goodnight lovely thread people. I leave you with eye candy:

That's because she's not the *original* female Captain Marvel

Men and women of colored, especially Asian males. A lot of the adaptations were changed from Asians to white because Hollywood doesn't think Asian males are marketable.Preach. I adore Monica, and I'm glad she's got a major role in a book right now, but. :3333 Id love to see her have a major role in the movie, at least. We need more women of color in the movies!

Yeah I think if they keep with the pattern of diversity + big announcement + quiet cancellation later + no real efforts to integrate or promote the characters, that's bad and essentially baiting us. I wouldn't call it pandering, I'd call it manipulating and using us for PR when they have no intent on following through.
But I do see some genuine effort, at least with Ms Marvel, Captain Marvel (she has ridiculously low sales and they are keeping her AND giving her a movie), Sam, and Luke.
Well, in Captain Marvel's case it's because they've realized it's easier to use a movie to sell comics than it is to use comics to sell a movie. Almost no one outside of diehard comic fans knew about Guardians of the Galaxy before the movie was announced, yet it ended up outselling both Thor and both Captain America movies, despite the fact that those guys are supposed to have much more solid fanbases. That's made them more willing to greenlight more obscure movies because they know the MCU label is more important than previous comic sales.
Also, I think they feel a pressure to have one stand alone heroine to rely on. DC at least has Wonder Woman, but all of Marvel's female heroes tend to be secondary or team-centered. Black Widow is the epitome of that, and also proves to rule about movie presence eclipsing comic presence.
But anyway, I agree that comics tend to take advantage of the fact they can start and stop project quickly and cheaply in order to draw in people with an interested in inclusiveness, almost to the point of manipulation. That sort of strategy isn't possible for games.

Word. Asian representation in entertainment, particularly with men, is almost non-existent.
