What? The? Hell?  :o

So the Templars are now Thedosian Nazis? Or do Jews/Homosexuals equal bloodmagic? Mate this logic is full of awfull.

As I said, it was a correlation, not a blatant metaphor, that I made in my head. And I can't unsee it. It isn't logic.

And religious groups painting homosexuals as horrible abominations. I don't understand your shock at my perspective.

Mages > Circle Towers > Templars ---> Jews/Homosexuals > Concentration Camps > Nazis

Main difference is that mages can become actual abominations that will bring destruction and crap. I don't think homosexuals have that power.
:P Why I dlislike the perspective? Because the vast majority of templars we meet are good people, not the other way around.

I've seem what a concentration camp looks like since we had a few built by Germans in my country, my granddad died in one. Trust me, a loose correlation isn't even close considering the standards of life in a circle.

They call this hyperbole. And it is exactly such a correlation that proves how ridiculous it was for people in real life to fear the 'dangers' of Jews/Homosexuals.

Why I dlislike the perspective? Because the vast majority of templars we meet are good people, not the other way around.

So were the vast majority of German soldiers serving their country.  I do not judge individuals in such a sweeping manner, which I actually stated in a previous post.

As you have a personal stake in this, I will say no more.  My goal was never to offend, nor to hijack this thread.  Thank you for your valuable perspective. I apologize if mine offended you or others.

They aren't going to do it, so please stop asking.  This thread is for ideas for later DA games, not to add any sort of DLC or patch to Inquisition.   :)

I definitely don't personally support the Templars, but it's not hard for me to imagine a Circle mage who would.

Trev comes from a noble, wealthy family who respects the social order. They were probably given extra comforts in the Circle because of this. As a Circle mage, they were given access to education and given a place to live. Some would chafe at this, absolutely. But others might thrive.

I could absolutely see a Trev who hated the rebellion, was at the summit to try to bring out peace, and thus had no inclination to speak to Fiona, the woman who had (from their perspective) taken away the safety and security she experienced, thrown the country into chaos, and threatened the lives of mages, Templars, and regular folk everywhere. They would be disgusted by the Lord Seeker hitting the priestess, of course, but they could also easily imagine removing him and restoring the Templars to the authority of the Chantry, or Inquisition. After all, he is not supposed to be doing any of that, and the reaction of Ser barris, plus the confidence of Cass and Cullen, might be all they need to skip Redcliffe entirely.

Speaking of Cassandra's confidence, it seemed strange how she switched sides so quickly. When first discussing sealing up the Breach when we first meet the advisers, she and Leliana supports going to the Mages, Cullen supports going to the Templars, and Josephine has no expressed preference but instead brings up the fact that neither side is listening to the Inquisition. Then Cassandra for some reason jumps on the Templar band wagon after you go to the capital to speak to the Chantry and disapproves of anything involving siding with the Mages.

It's the DA forum, any thread is two steps away from discussing templars as nazis.

I think Cass's behavior can be explained by how personally invested she was in figuring out what the heck was up with Lucius.

For Blackwall to be homosexual he would have to shave off that hideous beard, he would then be a more interesting character. Perhaps Blackwall should have been the fully homosexual relationship instead of Dorian, that seriously would've been awesome.

SHAVE THE BEARD! Make Blackwall gay!

She's still in favour of the mages as you're getting your "this is your last chance to reconsider!" message as Cullen argues the whole thing is a trap.

I take it you've never heard of bears?  The image is safe for work:

Spoiler

And there has been some ideas of having a proud bearded gay dwarven KISA as well.  :P

That would be disappointing. It would be like the anti-IB, except I would be equally not into it (him?).

Him.  Iron Bull may not be human, but neither are elves or dwarves.   ;)

The bearded KISA idea isn't to my taste either, but I would like a dwarven KISA.

It stands for Knight In Shining Armor.   The idea behind the thread is someone like Alistair or Cassandra, only not straight.   We're tossing around ideas for a future DA game.  Hopefully DA4.    ;)

Not necessarily.  Different strokes for different folks, just pointing out that it's a matter of taste.  You could argue similar things about Iron Bull in regards to sexual interest and build.    Straight women like burly guys too, as Joe Manganiello's female fan base can attest to.  He was Alcide in True Blood.   Plenty of straight women play gay male characters as well.   :D

That being said, I'd like to see someone more like Cullen or Alistair in terms of facial hair among the guys.  I'm not generally a big fan of a lot of facial hair myself.   I like a slim but strong build, so the typical gay bear would be a bit too big for me.  I'd still like a dwarf KISA, but admittedly that's due to my huge love of the race.  I'm pretty flexible though when it comes to race though.

I wouldn't want any of the existing characters to lose their facial hair.  I think it defines them a bit and hints at their personality.  Dorian's keen sense of fashion and individuality shows through in his magically groomed mustache.  Seriously, I think he uses magic to keep that looking so neat.  Blackwall's beard is an outward sign of him hiding his real personality and gives his face some character.

To each their own on that one.  I'm not going to ask anyone to share the same taste when it comes to a BioWare romances.   ;)

I'm just happy that there is a lot of folks that enjoy this idea of a non-hetero KISA.  Not all the ideas have been about gay/bisexual men either; the lesbian and bisexual ladies (hiya!) have brought some ideas to the table as well.  I think a lot of us want that special lord/lady knight to sweep us off our feet that isn't straight yet again in the DA games.  Kaidan has been brought up as the closest this archetype has come in BioWare games.  He counts, but I know those of us in this thread would love to see something like that happen again.

I'm just going to be salty that Kaidan counts but Steve doesn't. *crosses arms petulantly*
Also, I tend to like many types of men on many different days. So that picture could work, or a more Alistair picture could work. But really though, if DA4 is in tevinter, I'm voting on Ser Barris as our Templar escort... I mean companion. And hopefully Felix for a mage! (I may have a small crush on... OMG fanfic time)

Of course Steve Cortez counts!  KISA all the way. But as Kaidan was a companion, he just gets points as an example. But you knew that eyezonlyii!  Your championing of Steve is adorable. :D

Also, Dorian's mustache is magic. Blackwall's beard is.... beard?!   You are brilliant, Natashina. LOL

Cassandra, you are such an amazing KISA. Please be my beard at Halamshiral.
