I have been using photoshop for five years and I'm still apprehensive about entering this even though I'm dying to. I don't think anything I come up with will be half as good as some of the fan stuff I've seen.

Also, I don't think you can actually post it here, that might be against the rules because there will be community voting.

Well....I appreciate the now longer list of eligible countries compared to the infamous ME contest, but as enticing as the prize is, I'm told my visual designs are....er....functional. I wish you all luck and I'm looking forward to the entries. There are enough talented artists in here that I'm sure whoever wins deserves the prize.

Can anyone clarify this particular part of the rules?

"Be sure to include the words, 'Dragon Age Poster Contest' in the submission."

Do they mean to use that as the subject of the submission email, or to put it on the actual poster we submit?

They just mean to add it somewhere in the submission email, as the subject sounds about right.

I'm so sorry if this has been asked or if I overlooked this in the official rules document: How do we submit exactly? I know the question itself sounds stupid but hear me out. I know that you have to send it via email but do we include any personal information in the said email?

I'm a bit confused regarding how EA/Bioware will know how to address the winners/qualifiers if we just send our entries with the topic being "Dragon Age Poster Contest" and nothing besides that.

attach the file to an e-mail and send it to biowarecontest@ea.com

Yeah but, still, what the hell? I can only imagine on the 4th or whatever:

"The qualifers are rick@hotmail.com, lina@yahoo.com and arlmothereatingeamon@yahoo.com! Vote for them!"

i put my name and country in the email as well. but i imagine what will happen is they will notify the winners via the e-mail the poster was originally sent from. You are right though the details are ambiguous.

Yeah, it's like the registration fields on the site haven't been implemented yet...

3. How to Enter: During the Submission phase, visit LINK (the “Contest Site” or “Site”), fill in all of the required registration fields and follow the directions to submit your Dragon Age Movie Poster (collectively, the “Submission”) in order to receive one (1) Contest entry.

I admit the instructions are confusing so I just submitted what I made to their email and included my name and email addy. I don't expect to win anyway so I'm not breaking my neck trying to make heads or tails of their submission rules.

That confused me as well, plus the weird phrasing. It was even buggier earlier where instead of LINK it said "[link to the site]"

I guess we all just have to wait and see. On the other hand, my poster looks like crap and I'm glad I hesitated. :P

Yeah, it looks like the forum can't parse direct links with "!" in them. So that was my fix...

However, David did say he's going to find someone to come into this thread and help answer these questions. Maybe people should hold off submitting till then...

I've already submitted and included no details in the email. I assumed they just used the email you sent it with ;_;. Oh well, guess I can't change it now.

My submission

Now I'm thinking that maybe it needs more lens flares.

I hope they manage to do that before October ends. I really want to enter but I want them to receive my entry as well.

I suck at posters. This may not count. I just made this as an avatar.

I was really confused about the "fill in all of the required registration fields" as well because when I clicked on the button that says "submit your design", all I got was the e-mail I am supposed to send it to. No registration fields. I read the guidelines at least a dozen times to make sure I did not overlook anything, that there was a separate link or anything where I have to fill in those registration fields but nope, couldn't find anything.

So I just submitted my poster to the e-mail-address but I'm really uneasy if it really worked. Shouldn't there supposed to be at least an automatic response that your e-mail was received? How do I know that my poster got where it was supposed to be going?
I guess I just have to keep my fingers crossed and hope that Bioware won't add any of those registration fields now and all the other entries that reached them before that become null and void.

The wording is a bit odd, huh. I've made my poster, but I think I'll hold off on submitting until there's some official clarification. Maybe I'll also post it on here after it's submitted.

Do you think there would any problems if I added quotes or phrases from the trailers ? Maybe using a free font?

*Aveline voice* This waiting has to end! D:

I know it's weekend and all but they really need to get up from their asses and explain some things, considering how close the deadline is.

In that first example poster I wish whoever made it had grabbed *my*  fixed version of that pose that I uploaded here!

The "Sera has her bow arm on the wrong side of the bow string!" problem still really bothers me.

Someone at bw must have fixed it perhaps? I'm looking at the assets given to us to download and Sera is exactly the same as she is in the poster.
