I really don't want to be the spoilsport here or anything but are you guys sure that it is allowed to show your entries on the forum? I kind of feel like it might not be allowed to make the entries public before the submission phase is over. Coud be just me, though. Just a thought.

There's nothing in the rules stating you can't show off your entry and I doubt it would bother them much as it isn't as though this is a secret competition.

As usual the community comes up with some amazingly nice stuff.

I'm having some trouble with this. In Photoshop, I'm putting in 600 width 1000 height in pixels but the canvas size looks too long / too thin. What am I doing wrong?

Edit: I am a graphic design student so this would really help me out in the long run as well.

That's the minimum, you can make it larger. A few of the posters seen on the first page opening post use these dimensions: 1000w x 1333h, while others use 1100w x 1375h. Measurements in pixels, w = wide, h = high. Other than that, not sure what could be causing your problem.

But to show what the 600w x 1000h looks like on my version of Photoshop, here you go:

This:

Becomes this:

That's what I'm getting. I don't really like the look of 600x1000 so I might go with 1000x1333. Thank you very much for answering.

Finished my poster. Don't know how to upload it in this comment section but I'm proud of it. I think it's professional (enough) using only what came in the da:i poster-contest-kit. I think it's good enough to go into a portfolio. (You could count this contest as a live brief right?) Well, either way, it's going in there.

If anyone would like to see it, please show me how to add it into these comments.

Dude, there is 98% chance that no one here have any chances. Why? Because none of us(i guess) are real designers. Let's just have fun

I'm a designer and illustrator by trade, but I did this primarily to just have fun too. (Still, the small chance to win an Inquisitor's copy of the game is nice too, but I don't have my hopes set high - there's a lot of amazing artists and designers in this fandom).

I'd say anyone who is only skipping out because they think they're not "good enough" - if you have an idea or just want to make a poster and see what happens, do it!

Upload your picture to an image host like Photobucket or TinyPic; they'll give you the image's URL. Copy that. Then, on the forums when posting, click on the button that looks like a photo (image-icon_zps8ecc8d5e.gif). It'll open up a window where you can paste the image's address. Hit "Okay" and your picture should be inserted into your post. :)

Or click on this button and paste your picture's link.

Any news on these "required registration fields" we have to fill out, before we send them the entry?

Don't they need a name, or our country, or something?

Most likely only if you win. You have to email them your poster so they will keep your email on record. If you win, they would then sort out any names and countries in order to receive the prize

Can we submit more than one entry?  I don't see anything in the rules about it, but halfway through reading that boring legalese, my eyes start to glaze over.

Edit:  Nevermind!  We are indeed limited to one entry only.

You can get landscape posters you know, and to be quite fair, it doesn't say in the rules it has to portrait or landscape

Okay, but there are none in poster examples. and size is pretty specific "movie-style poster (larger than 600x1000 pixels)" not 1000x600. Jut consider this, and don't be surprised when your work wont show up on facebook

I read the rules and it applies to it ;) And if I won't make it, no big deal. I had fun and I have an awesome desktop.

I didn't enter this one but I had fun making it. I made two more and so far I'm trying to decide which one to enter, I'll post them later.

Edit: made it smaller cause it's starting to annoy me at how big it is in the thread lol!

Thanks for the likes.
