So I just thought of this and I might be tripping, but maybe we have to save the warden from a disaster or something?
He as far as I know disappeared somewhere and have not returned, and our missions regarding him/her is to rescue him. Since only Hawke is returning in person and not the Warden this might be possible... maybe
Literally just thought of this so it might not be that well thought out

Maybe they were kidnapped by the same person, and only Hawke survives. They did vanish around the same time.
Please dont do that Bioware, I dont want my warden to die.

While I think that is a pretty cool idea. I think the only way we will get anything about the warden is if who ever he/she romanced mentions them or something along those lines
