Hey there,

I am not entirely sure whether I found the right place to ask this or not, but I thought I'd give it a shot. So basically I discovered a wonderful hairstyle among several preset mods on the Nexusmods website, however so far I neither managed to get a preset with it to work nor did I find the hairstyle mod it originally came with. I seem to have all the hairstyle mods detailed in the requirements installed and yet I still can't find the required one (or at least it does not show up in the Creator). I've attached a picture of the hairstyle I want to use (from the "I wanna be your heroine" mod - which I tried to install, but apparently failed spectaculary.)
Any ideas which hairmod originally contained this style?

P.S.: I cannot use the toolset, as my PC refuses to install it properly, so any solutions with the toolset unfortunately won't work for me.

Any help at all would be great, thanks.

Unfortunately, not all hair styles show up in the Character Creator.  Some also require that you update the CharGenMorph Feel free to ask if you have more questions

In the stand-alone CC, no they don't all show up.. only if you start a new game and use that CC. You have to put the whole file into override then run the compiler. If the mod chargenmorphcfg.xml is inside of a folder, it will not overwrite the main one in override. you want to merge them with the compiler, not overwrite one. These hairstyles are for human female only also... will not show up for an elf or dwarf (but you probably already knew that) :)

Luna and Meranne have it right.  :wizard:

Download the HF LOTC Hairstyles V1.0.zip archive.

Decompress the zip. You should get a folder called "HF LOTC Hairstyles V1.0". Leave that folder structure intact, and manually place it into your override folder.

Download and run the CharGenMorph Compiler. (I believe it goes through a short configuration dialogue the first time it is run... it's been a while since I used it.) The compiler will find all the chargenmorphcfg.xml files in your override (including the one in the LOTC Hairstyles folder), back them up, and then compile them into a single XML that will be recognized by the in-game CC.

Profit!

Thanks guys :-) I think I figured out what the problem is: I did have the mod installed, however, the compiler did not find the xml.file because it got named chargenmorphcfg.xml (1) when copied. I reinstalled it (as you described it, theskymoves) and it all works properly now. Thanks for the fast replies and help (this problem had been driving me crazy, though it was a fairly obvious one in retrospect).
