I prefer having a physical copy maybe because I still don't quite trust sites like Stream and Origin? IDK.
To download or not to download... that is the question

In my case it's always physical copy.
It's usually less expensive (with DA:I it's 10€ cheaper) and installing the game is shorter than downloading it with my poor connexion

my connection is also not super great. But people mentioned that you can pre-load origin up to 4 days in advance, which would be a long-enough time to download it before it get's released.

I agree but in many occasions, I wanted to replay my games and I had to reinstall them
I didn't want to wait too long so having a physical copy really helped me.

Just so you know, even if you have the disc version, you can still download the game via Origin. You discs get lost or destroyed? No problem, just download your game.
Sweet! Nice to have confirmation!

I preordered the amazon disc version of Inquisition, but I just learned about the pre-download on origin. I am looking for suggestions. I could play the game the instant it's released, but I wouldn't get to feel the hard disc in my hands...
(mauahaha)
What are you guys doing?
Either way you will probably end up downloading a large day one patch. Not really into collecting boxes or discs myself, so I always prefer digital.

Only thing I wanted from the Inquisitor's edition was the tarot cards and I wasn't about to spend an extra $120 for them. All the physical editions I have just sit under my desk collecting dust, so digital deluxe it was.

Only reason I'm doing physical over digital is that I wanted the sweet loot from the Inquisitors Edition, plus I really am a sucker for steelcases.

Physical is considerably cheaper for some reason. Also, my download speed is rubbish.

I just went ahead and pre-ordered the physical PC version from Gamestop because there are so many November games coming out that I'd SURELY go over my 300GB limit (lol Comcast) if I got everything digitally.
comcast doesnt enforce it. trust me i have comcast and i use about 800 gb a month

Then it's gotta be regional because disc and download are both exactly the same price for me. Yet i may go with download afterall, now. Seems like a better choice and I'll get to play the game in the morning instead of at night on the 18th.

Derek can you please tell us if we can use a vpn to unlock the game on the 18th if we live in a country with a different release date? Prior games like ME2 it was discouraged but wasn't enforced in any way.

Can you actually do that or is that like funkytown hacker junk?
I think so. It wouldn't be hacking, after all if you would want to play the game, you would still need Origin to play it.

I also preordered disc DE from amazon.. but I like @sylvanaerie point about damaged discs or required in-tray to play.
Also,
If I was transferring all of my digital copies from origin to another computer, couldn't I just copy the game folder and verifycacheintegrity like on steam to bypass the 20 GB DL again? Or would I need to redownload the game again? This question goes out to everyone. I change up computers frequently, but I've never had to download games again from origin because I have all the games on disc. Steam, however, I just copy the files to another computer and it takes a quick verification to play them again.
I did the backup thing a while ago, IIRC I had to install the Origin client on my new PC and then copy the game files over into the correct subfolder, as opposed to just copying the entire Origin folder. I tried the latter initially but the missing registry keys meant that Titanfall didn't work properly.

Actually yes you can.
When I got my new computer recently I took the hard drive out of my old one and put it in an External Hard Drive shell (USB 3.0) and on my new PC I installed Origin then copied all the games from my old hard drive onto the new computer, Origin then saw the files when it started installing the game and then just did a file check to ensure everything was there and then I was ready to play with no downloading.

Really easy way to get your cake and eat it too you just need about ~$70 that can bee in limbo for two weeks. Keep the physical pre-order you want and also purchase a digital version on Origin.
1.) Pre-order and pre-load the game . 2.) Play on November 17th at 8pm, 3.) Receive physical copy. 4.) Request money back on digital order using Origin's Great Game Guarantee by November 18th at 8pm. 4) Use code that came with physical edition of game. 5.) Load save, play for a bajillion more hours
It's what I'm doing, because frankly there is no reason this shouldn't be possible in this day and age while I wait for my Inquisitor's Edition to be delivered.
