But you can't wear armor that actually 'looks' like heavy plate armor (like templar) if you are let's say a mage?
I'm pretty sure you can.
But it would need to be a schematic of the templar armour which had enough open upgrade slots to make it useful for mages.

im wondering if the reverse is also true, as in can warriors dump that ugly plate armor in favour of a stylish leather jacket

They should delay it for 2 more years.
Good for you, the only things i want to see now are the rest of the mage's specializations (and generally the specializations still not revealed).
And you will in just a few weeks.
I was pretty impressed with this latest demo - impressed enough to finally make the leap and pre-order. The trick now is to resist spoiling myself on too much information.
