It seems that whichever character you're currently playing will be the one to get on a mount.

The character you currently have selected will be the one that mounts up.

you can ride the horse as whatever companion you're controlling, its not that you mount up and everyone jumps on their own horse behind you

I think it's just a pool of mounts which anyone can ride (and everyone else disappears).

Don't know about you guys, but that looked AWESOME.  The game is looking very polished, looks very explorable, companions look fun, combat looks great, Jon Curry sounds awesome as a Dwarf, Dwarves look awesome, ELECTRIC DRAGON, the option to recruit your enemies...aaaah god.

I think this is the area where you recruit Iron Bull. I also swore I saw him in that bunch that were fighting on the coast in the beginning of the stream.

When they were talking about the mercenary group, I was thinking that it might have been Iron Bull's recruitment mission (since the area appears to be similar to what we saw in the trailer), but apparently not.
