Officer Eddie Lang needed more screen time. They gave him a name and then he vanished.

What happened to Helena Blake? I know she allowed Aria to buy her out in my story. As long as you have your health. It was touch and go there for a while. Although I know some of you killed her or had her form a charity. I like my version better... more in character.

I thought for sure Eddie would make a cameo in a future Mass Effect. I guess everyone just forgot about him.

She did go to Oxford. Does it make a difference that she didn't make any mentioning of her taking commnication classes?  When talking with her she does mention communications http://youtu.be/Dx_CXFRy_mY?t=1m52s. She was also responsible for overseeing the retrofits. Maybe having her at the CIC was better then being in the war room.

Well no it does not. I am happy to have her in the CIC. Regardless, I just simply thought that she would be better off in the communication room simply because she is... well a Communication Specialist.

As for a Communications Specialist, that one eludes me. I had originally thought they were meant for public affairs. Apparently there is more to it. Samantha claims to have attended Oxford University but she never mentioned Communication classes, she mentioned working in labs with people taking apart GUI's. That seems like something a software or engineer world do.

It sounds like working in a lab is her job and that Communications Specialist was her job title there. She's only along because she happened to be on the Normandy, presumably working on its comms, at the time it took off, she was never intended to be part of its crew. Once there though she managed to find a use for her skills. The same's true of the loading screen guards.

Comm room does sound like a more obvious place for her.

I'd say Dr. Chakwas, Kenn, Gabby, and TIM needed more screentime. Add to that maybe Anderson.

Also Lorik Qui'in and Emily Wong. Oh, and Arcturus Station!

Not entirely related, but I was missing the real Noveria in ME3. A whole planet dedicated to cutting-edge weapon and AI research, and there is only 1 side mission on it.

Feros had potential too. An entire planet covered in old prothean cities. What if we'd found Javik there instead, maybe with Shiala as a temp squadmate. *sigh*

Shiala is my favorite non-Normandy character. I would have gladly let her join my team.

She would have been a pretty cool squad mate. If it was up to me I would merge her's and Liara's characters together to make a new badass, blue-green, female, space Indiana Jones character.

Jenkins. For the time he had on screen, he was the best squadmate I ever had.

Ashley.

She was practically mute the whole second half of the game.

I wanted to be able to keep Urz the Champion Tuchanka Pit Varren.  He could come on missions and everything.

Kelly could've fed him while he was on the Normandy. I've hunch they would've gotten' along.

And when she spoke she was different from ME1 Ash.

I'm still not quite sure what to think of all her drinking scenes. Was there anything in ME1 to suggest that she was a party girl? She asked Shepard to join her for a drink on a special occasion, which is something normal people do. Suddenly, in ME3 and the Citadel DLC large segments of her interactions revolve around downing large amounts of alcohol. Were they added because they weren't sure how to advance her character? Her distrust towards aliens and her religion get dropped, so was this added to make up for that void?

I think Ash/Kaiden needed a better role in ME2 (maybe a DLC would've been cool).

I think the ME2 characters needed more in ME3.

The crews needed to converge better, basically (even in Citadel, which tried to get them together finally.. still had a main quest with no ME2 characters).

Not really.  I mean, she offers taht drink to commemorate Armistice Day.  Other lines of dialogue indicate she likes dancing and was a bit of a tomboy.  Nothing to indicate she's into drinking games or was a party girl who gets falling-down drunk when things get stressful.

Another good character that was underused. His death was pointless. It did not even add to the story. If he really needed to die then it should have been near then end of the mission, or at the very least by an antagonist. A minor Geth drone should not count.

Jack has her varren pet named Eezo that she plays around with. Urz and Eezo could run around in the Shuttle Bay.

Jenkins... his entire purpose was to give you experience allocating skill points and showing how powerful this week's monster was.

I'd add Nihlus to the list. When he said, "this will be the first of several missions together..." he lied.

I kind of wish Nihlus at least got a brief opportunity to show off his skills. Alas, he was a Turian who died before his time.

Indeed. Would have been cool if he'd at least met us on the citadel afterwards and gave us mission briefings.

A confrontation similar to Tali/Legion, Miranda/Jack, or Liara/Javik, or even Wrex/Victus. Shep would have to pick one, or talk them both down and there would be an interrupt involved somewhere.

You two, stay a deck apart at all times! Is that clear? Save your fighting for the Collectors!

Other than the obvious selection of Ethan Jeong the Immortal, I'd go with Legion; I think his recruitment mission should have taken place way earlier in the story, particularly given how important a role he plays for the Rannoch arc that was inevitably going to become a big deal in the next game.

Also, I always though the Rachni were pretty interesting, so maybe the Rachni Queen could have had a somewhat enlarged role in ME2; obviously this would have been tricky to manage given that she's killable in ME1, but still, it could have been interesting to get that perspective on the history of the Rachni wars and get a little more understanding of one of the truly weird races of ME.
