>implying hawke wont trip over their own shoelaces and land on a pitchfork at some point
there is no need for our input when it comes to someone with as little thinking power as the intrepid DA2 protagonist

I almost always play good characters in games and therefore choose the good path, but I simply can't stand Hawke at all and will kill him on sight if I can.
There's nothing rude about asking a mod to shut down threads that lead to murder wishes.
Actually it is rude to say that purely because you don't "like" or don't "agree" with the OP. Last I checked, this was the scuttlebutt forum, and he's perfectly justified asking about an in-game character revealed in a recent trailer. I loved my hawke and wouldn't want to see him as a killable player, either, but that doesn't mean that I'm going to shut down someone else's opinion just because it clashes with my own. And "murder wishes"? I'm sure you've played a Dragon Age game before, which tells me this statement is not based on moral standing and instead on the fact that you're offended that someone else might have a different preference.
You got a point. Revealing anything like this would be a spoiler and a premature headache.
An option to kill Hawke?
Just wait and see when you play the game.
Nobody would be able to confirm or deny it anyway, and we certainly won't get an official response before the game is released. It's all just speculation.
Hawke is sexy, male or female.
You want sexy to die? That's the first I've ever heard.
Unless that's why. Hawke is too sexy for the world.
We can't handle the Hawke returning.

I'd prefer the option to attempt to kill Hawke, only for him to kick th Inquisitor's ass. Varric then reveals that he toned down Hawke's toughness to make him more relatable. Then Hawke single-handedly defeats the Elder One and rides off into the sunset.

Then the Warden shows up and his presence alone destroys Hawke. Much better ending.
lol hawke just flat-out buries the inquisitor like as soon as he steps out of the fade. "YOU'VE BEEN TROLLED"

The Warden is dead.
The Warden is dead.
I saw a post about a possible quest for the warden.
Not seeing the warden or anything, oh no.
But how could there be something if they're dead?

Let me reiterate that.
I wish he was dead, along with hawke so people could stop moaning about them both.

While I enjoy both,
this is the Inquisitor's time to shine.
I would like Hawke to be a potential antagonist of some kind in the game. It might make him/her interesting. Maybe turning up for a side quest and you can either side with or against them. I have played through DA2 3 times and haven't found a way to play Hawke that has made me care even slightly what happens to them. He/She was ultimately the main character in a story barely worth telling.
If anyone deserves death it's Cullen. Thinks he can just take Bethany...I wanted bloody revenge!

This is a very interesting statement because I was also wondering what might happen if you side with the mages or the templars at the end of DA:II and the impact that would have in DA:I when you encounter Hawke in a game based on Mage/Templar war.

The potential is certainly there for Hawke to be an antagonist. 10-15 years ago, I feel Bioware may well have done this tbh.
The scene would be epic, especially with Varric in the middle, forced to choose a side

I agree with you. And if you follow the trail of thought, in this light it could be completely feasible that you might have the opportunity to kill off Hawke (not that I'd take that route).
Ex: If you have a Hawke that supported the mages, agreed with Ander's decision, and let Ander's live, and you're playing an Inquisition game where you support the Templars... you very well could have a recipe for dealing with Hawke in a permanent manner.
This would be kind of interesting, actually. Say if your inquisitor is chantry/templarm biased and your hawke was a mage radical that let Anders live, or even supported what he did, I think this decision would make sense (story wise).
+1
Ah BSN...
"If it's an NPC then it's ****able and killable and we want both options!"
"I WANT TO ROMANCE MYSELF!"
"I want to **** Eternal Phoenix, he is so sexy and intelligent!"
Never change BSN, never change...
Seems legit to meI think wanting to kill Hawke is unhealthy, it's like wanting to kill yourself and shows suicidal tendencies of some bsn members.
