Basically, I removed Solas from the equation because his romance is too heavily restricted and replaced him with Vivienne... I went ahead and made her bi since I don't recall any confirmation that she is straight, as the OP suggests...

 

Basically my "suggestion" was deemed like this;

 

1) Take out Blackwall and Solas, add in Vivienne and Varric;

 

2) Blackwall is straight, so I'll make Vivienne straight

 

3) Solas was straight and race-gated to his own people, so I'll make Varric the same (they even say in DA:2 that Varric is into Dwarven ladies).

I misread that as only applying to Varric. Still, that seems like a really weird assumption to make.

 

That's the beauty of speculation. I don't see how it's weird, but you're entitled to your opinion.

That's good. I kind of understand how BioWare feels when people take words out of context and blow them out of proportion. Got a couple of those in this thread so far. Hopefully, people just participate for fun and not take anything personally/literally.

Since OP said "no changing the sexual orientation", and you don't add any to the list, but stipulate only male characters get to trigger the romances, you would roll with only Cassandra and Josephine?  

Isn't that pretty much what you already have?

Sweet Maker how could I forget about Mr. Broody. Maybe if we toss him far enough he'll  land back into the Final Fantasy game where he belongs.

I would keep it mostly how it is but I would add Scout Harding and Viviane to the mix. Scout Harding would be for either men or women but just dwarves. Don't care about the sexual orintation of vivi just that she would be a romance option.

Where did you get this idea? We have absolutely zero information on Vivienne's sexuality.

I think the romances are very good, with only one exception...like others have mentioned, I would have removed one of the current male romances and added Varric. We have never had a dwarf romance, and having him gated to dwarves only would have given lots of players incentive to roll a dwarf for once, and now there really isn't any. It seems sad that we get a Qunari romance, and every race has a romance of their own EXCEPT for dwarves.

 

Perhaps Solas could have been removed to add Varric, since there are currently 2 elves to romance. Maybe DA4 will finally give us some dwarfy goodness?

I agree, and I would really prefer it be a companion. I have to admit that I really dislike non-companion romances for the simple fact that I like to go everywhere with my LI.

 

I feel like Varric would have been perfect, but Bianca gets in the way. *sigh*
