All romances are playersexual/bisexual/whatever the f*** you want to call it unless it is critical to the story for it to be otherwise.  For example Dorian would remain a gay male only romance. 

 

Romances would use something akin to the points system used in ME3 for deciding whether or not you could broker peace between the Quarian's and the Geth.  For example to romance Sera you couldn't be someone who always abuses the less fortunate.  Make romances depend more upon player choice and action instead of what genitalia they have and will never be seeing.

 

ETA: I do not accept the premise that character sexual orientation is character design over romance design, except in the case of Dorian.  It might be for others but there has been no evidence of it.

My request would be difficult for DA since it would add many more LI aside from companions and advisers but at the cost of having choices express realistic preferences and potentially making romances more difficult. Everyone would keep their sexual orientation, no gating and add people such as Varric, Leliana (if not in a relationship) etc. but whether they'll romance you is depended on how you made your character in the CC.

 

ex. Cassandra will romance a male if they have a face structure centered in the top right corner of the face drag box, or had 'warm' colored eyes for example.

I agree with Varric as dwarven-female-only romance.

 

 

I would also have Leliana as a potential LI if the Warden did not choose her in DA:O.

I wouldn't change a thing. While I was rooting for Varric, I'm very satisfied with the romances at present. 

 

Though of course, I'd punt any one of them off the list for Dagna (or Scout Harding)

Varric would be a romance for female elves and dwarves. He's said he's not interested in humans, so I don't see him going for a Qunari either.

 

Iron Bull would be a romance for male and female Qunari and humans. The idea of him being with a dwarf is... uncomfortable to me, and he never struck me as the kind to go for an elf.

 

Cullen would go for female mages.

 

Blackwall is good as he is.I have to admit though, he wouldn't be my first choice. He's a Warden, and probably has been for at least 10-15 years, which means that he's almost halfway done with his life. Before he was announced as a romance, I saw him as being too focused on the Wardens to be a love interest.

 

Solas... I wouldn't have him as a romance. He seems to intent on his work to be interested in romance, to me.

 

Cassandra I like as she is.

 

Josephine is fine as she is.

 

Sera I like as she is as well.

 

I would have Vivienne interested only in male Qunari and human. Human because they're connected to a noble house and she's all about connections, and Quanri because Qunari are exotic and she can brag about how she's "tamed" one. Although it might be the other way around.

Honestly, I wouldn't do anything different. I think the romances are perfect as they are.

 

 

But then, I would have been slightly happier with them if Varric was romanceable. But he's got his reason.

I'd have all the current romances plus:

*New character- Female Elf Rogue (Secret Party Member)- available to both genders

Varric- Female Dwarves only

Vivienne- Male Humans/Elves only

*New character- Important Male NPC- available to males only

Well, to be honest, I wouldn't change anything.  I mean, the first time I saw Cassandra (DA 2) I knew that my next hero, Justus Mahieu (French for Just-Gift of God) would want her by his side for the tough times ahead.  So, I am quite complacent with the choice for my version of DA:I's hero.  However, I wouldn't mind there being another character like Isabela or having Isabela come back in the next game.  My champion of Kirkwall really enjoyed the psychology of her character and breaking the barriers that guarded her heart.

I know its against the rules but I would keep them as they are other than making Cass bi, I was kinda disappointed my lady quizzies wouldn't be able to romance her.
