It would be awesome, but there's a problem with the Hawke CC preset used influencing the sibling appearance.
Makes me wonder if they'd use the default Carver and match the skin color to the designed DAI Hawke, or just simply not bother with him to begin with.
So it's not just me. This has been a nagging worry since the Enemy of Thedas trailer. Tbh I always liked both Hawke siblings more than Hawke himself. Frostbite is a gift and a curse.
Default Carver and Bethany were the best ones, so I'm cool with that.
It's been confirmed as not being The Warden, which makes sense because the Warden was never voiced. Voicing The Warden - while a catchy name for a non-existent PR video - would risk breaking the experience for players.
To me, it looks kinda like Sebastian, but unless you kill Anders he checks the hell out, and he's not a Grey Warden or even a tangentially important character at this point, despite Starkhaven's relatively significant status within Thedas.
Also, for those wondering why Anders hasn't been announced as a part of DAI, and why the potentially trolling VA for him is saying he hasn't gotten a call for DAI, Sebastian's potential final vow to a Hawke who leaves Anders alive is to raise the army of the largest city-state on the continent and kill him. So there's a good chance Anders is dead as a doornail or "mysteriously missing" no matter what, and that would certainly be the easiest way to handle that situation.
And who knows what trouble Hawke got into after Kirkwall? Since Hawke's father was a part of the Wardens it's not unreasonable to assume that in the face of the rifts they would form some kind of connection. I'm leaning on new character, Wardens have notoriously short lifespans so it's unlikely to be anyone we know - especially if we don't recognize them. King Alistair would probably never be caught dead in standard Warden plate, and drunkard Alistair probably wouldn't be showing up to fight something as bad as the darkspawn again. And dead Alistair is dead.
I wouldn't be surprised if that slot got filled by a returning character, but I doubt this specific one is anyone we've seen in the games before.
My hope is that it is a placeholder for either of two scenarios:
Hawke with Bethany or Carver, either will appear with Hawke if one is still alive from DA2
Hawke with Stroud if both Carver and Bethany died in DA2
Hawke's dad had never been part of the warden. He actually do a kind of transaction with them: he helped them off once (Legacy DLC) to "buy" a safe passage for him and Hawke's mom away from Kirkwall. It had been said at Legacy that actually what Malcolm perform at Vinmark Mountain can only be done by a mage with untainted blood.

Agreed. But it seems just so out of context... Hard to believe Sebastian join the warden thought... It's not the time of Blight so he won't have that "I will join the wardens in the name of the Maker" argument, and that's clearly a Warden we saw there. Anyway either he stayed a priest either he's busy conquering Starkhaven and hunt down Anders.
I'm guessing it's either a unnamed random warden npc or a new warden npc with dialog in some cutscenes that the inquisitor can get to know.
But why bring a random character so clearly for a few seconds beside Hawke ( a major character) on the trailer? It should have some significations... So either it's someone new that has MAJOR part, either it's someone that takes the place of some major characters from DA:O and DA2

Oh? Not sure honestly. If so, then that's sort of disappointing IMO.

My money's on it being Alistair. I imagine it would work like it did in DA2 where if Alistair is dead/king you get Stroud in his place.
Though I would love to see Warden Carver.
I was really disapointed, when it was announced, that it wasn´t the Warden. Whoever it is, I just hope, it is an amazing character.
Maybe Bioware should´t have shown this character in the trailer, when they knew that everyone was gonna think, it´s the warden.

If it is Sebastian and its a big if. maybe it has something to do with a cameo by Hawks lover?
Most likely he is an NPC or one of those Redshirts bioware likes to add to games.
