By blind luck I managed to find a Livestream of Aaryn Flynn's presentation at StoryWorld Quest which showed off the new trailer and I frantically took a number of screenshots. Okay, A LOT of screenshots.

So they really gave her short hair.? Really Bioware? Does every single woman in Thedas have to have short hair or no hair at all? Even the Empress of the fashion loving Orlais? Even if she is only a npc, so there shouldn't be any insoluble clipping issues?

Looking at the gloves, I think that's Leliana who is handing it to us.

So they really gave her short hair.? Really Bioware? Does every single women in Thedas have to have short hair or no hair at all? Even the Empress of the fashion loving Orlais? Even with her being a npcs, so there shouldn't be any insoluble clipping issues?

 

Pretty sure it's an engine issue. I'm not sure how well Frostbite renders hair (not well, from hat we can tell). I assume that's because it was designed purely to render buzzcut marines (jk).

funny but possibly true. The hair options I've seen so far have been mediocre. thankfully i spend more time killing stuff and less time accessorizing.

I'm thinking it might be like the Inquisition's version of Ned Stark's 'Ice' in Game of Thrones. Some big ceremonial sword we use for executions and the like.

I've pretty much decided that Ferelden is the only decent country in Thedas*, so I imagine I'd support Celene over her rival (if that is something we'll be able to do) since she made peace with Ferelden.  But I haven't read The Masked Empire yet, so my opinion may change.

That red military suit is going to be so so ugly on femquisitors... that was totally designed with the male inquisitor in mind. Wish we could wear what "Celene" Is wearing, the neckline is so nice!

Well, if you look at the left side of The Masked Empire cover picture, someone is approaching Celene with a pair of shears. Clearly they succeeded in giving her a haircut.

 

While the engine is no doubt at fault, I just try to imagine that short hair is the hottest style in Orlais at the moment.

You're not entirely wrong lol

 

Bioware also had to rebuild hair from the ground up because they switched to a new engine, so that also probably played a factor
