This doesn't exuse the complete lack of long hair. I accepted that our Inquisitor or companions won't have any long hairstyles because of possible clipping issues with different outfits, although every goddamn mmo/rpg from every small developer somehow manages to do otherwise.

But not being able to give npcs with fixed outfits long hairstyles is just sad. Especially if this npc is the Empress of Orlean and we have a imagination and description how she is supposed to look.

We caught a brief glimpse of it in the Twitch from today. At the start when they go to the War Table, the Dwarfquisitor in it is wearing it for a brief bit during that scene. Looks identical from what I could make out from the short clip.

If it is indeed Celene, I wonder why on earth she cut all her hair off? Its kind of an interesting choice? She was much more beautiful on the book cover, but methinks it was so they could reuse resources and use the CC haircut already there?

I have no problem with that outfit, imo it looks better on Inquisitrix.

The male version is ok, but the female version of that red outfit is something I will think about later with great respect.

I don't know what it is, she just looks incredibly sharp in it. I had that first dancing shot as my phone background for a while, until new Dorian pictures came out.

Don't get what the big deal about the lady Inquisitor's red ball outfit is.

 

It looks like something I'd expect a regal military commander to wear, with the gold cuffs and the like. I'd rather go looking like that than some pompous Orlesian noble.

Or we're given the option to intentionally mess up that sequence and embarrass her.

I think this is why we are in dire need of options to choose from. I personally think its too masculine and my female mage inquisitor didn't want to be leading this large organization, thats not her thing, so I doubt she would want to wear something that looks like what a general on the field would. My Dalish elf wouldn't ever want to wear something so human looking and so trim.

This is a look that only suits certain characters and personalities, forcing it on everyone is going to ruin immersion for alot of people. 

 

edit: and to some people they don't care what they wear, but for some, its very important to them for their character to dress and look how they imagine would go along with their personalities and behaviors.

Not entirely. As Snook said the Inquisitor is pretty much a military commander, they're gonna have to dress the part whether they like it or not

Woah there, let's calm down a bit folks. We had two glimpses of the Ball. Let's not start an uproar over what we can or cannot do there. It's possible we get options between a more ''formal'' outfit or a fabulously pimped out dress. We also have no idea if we're going to be forced to dance with Celene. I do think it's a shame the Empress of Orlais has short hair, however, we know the CC allows for shoulder-length hair, and seems to me she of all people should have just that.

 

In other news, that sword looks amazing. Ornate but still practical. Hope it's akin to a Ice for the Inquisition; the sword we dispense justice with.
