*female Warden,Hawke and Inquisitor stand over bonfire of burning dresses*
?
Warden could wear dresses. Hideous dresses mind but still.
And I only played dude Hawke so lack of dresses there didn't bother me ![]()

HopefullyThe Hero of Ferelden.
Spoiler
Don't get what the big deal about the lady Inquisitor's red ball outfit is.
It looks like something I'd expect a regal military commander to wear, with the gold cuffs and the like. I'd rather go looking like that than some pompous Orlesian noble.

I don't thing Celene's hair is an engine issue. There is concept art of her with short hair in more or less that style and they could have had her hair up like Morrigan, Josephine and Harding have if they really couldn't manage it long. The CC also has shoulder length hairstyles so there is no reason at all why they couldn't have at least done that if they wanted to. She's just had a haircut, deal with it. ![]()
Short hair isn't anti fashion especially not in a culture were wigs and elaborate hats are a big thing, short hair would make all that a lot easier.
I don't see the big deal about the Inquisitors outfit either, it looks pretty good to me, I know some wanted a dress and it's a shame but this outfit is at least better than the MOTA outfit. It's also a lot better than that hideous brown casual outfit that we are all going to be forced to wear around skyhold. ![]()

I'm determined to play a female protag. this time but I REALLY don't want her to wear this mannish military get up to an Orlesian ball. Le sigh. Maybe its time to re-think my male inquisitor playthrough...

Yeah short hair allows you to switch out elaborate headdresses with ease, or did you think Vivienne had short hair just to be different?

If it's up to me, Celene will dance with the air.
A passage from Masked Empire stood out to me... "stepping on the hem of a rival's gown could send her to the ground in shame."
Please give us the option, Bioware!

So is this a trailer that is coming out this tuesday or...when? Cause it looks actually pretty awesome, just from the sneak peaks, but it also does not look like one of their character trailers.

First video:
pretty sure it's celene
I don't care for the hair style and though i understand why they can't give her long hair I wished they make it longer even it was just a couple inches better it be great especially the sides that the part that bothered me the most i would let them get away with it if she got attacked by an assassin and in the scrum some of her hair get chopped of and then she makes look like that so here hair would look normalish

I kind of like Celene's hair. It's nice to see that Orlesian fashion doesn't conform 100% to what you would expect, y'know?

No mention yet when it's going to be released, but it's a safe bet it'll be sometime in the next 3 weeks... ![]()

Here's a pic from a previous video with the Femquisitor...
Oh my. They're just coming together, right? Or apart? Surely they aren't mid-dance? Because for a waltz (I assume its a waltz, being a fancy Orlesian ball) femquisitor's top line is cringe inducing... Did her noble parents never teach her proper carriage in closed position?
Unless I'm misreading a move; it has been a while since I've waltzed ![]()
(Also, I'm just slightly surprised Celene isn't leading for some reason. She seems like the type to insist.)

Nice trousers make a butt looks fantastic. And they're actually functional, no shameful panty shots, make physical actions much easier
Oh, and MoTA costume was fine

I don't think I can make a judgement call on Inquisitrix's ball outfit until I've seen what the bottom looks like. If it's a trenchcoat, I'm going to roll my eyes so hard. The ideal for me would be some sort of choice -- either go stern commander mode or fancy lace and embroidery -- for both inquisitors and inquisitrixes.
Not holding out much hope. I mean, we're able to change the curtains in Skyhold to fit our characters' personalities if we want to, but fashion as a form of individual expression is obviously absurd ![]()
(tbqh what bothers me about women in trousers for non-combat wear in DA2 is that only the PC/companions do it. If there had been even a couple of trouser-wearing noblewomen running around, f!Hawke's and Tallis' outfits would have been way less jarring. By the background characters in the ball scene it seems DA:I is gonna be more of the same...)

I would like the option to choose to dance with whichever notable Orlesian of your choosing. What if I don't want to back Celene?

I'm fairly sure that only human inquisitors can dance with Celene. If folks are already so set on hating her, pick a different race (although, I have a feeling that even humans get to choose whether to dance with her).
It would cause a massive outrage if the empress of Orlais would dance publicly with an elf or a qunari. Considering the events in The Masked Empire, Celene will probably want to avoid another elven-related scandal. Her power position is tenuous as it is. Also, while dwarves are respected trading partners, I doubt the Orlesian nobles would look that pairing kindly either.
In addition to being nonsensical for story reasons, it would be a huge pain to animate dwarf/human or qunari/human couples dancing. We've already been told that some elements of the game will change according to our choice of race.

No, see, royalty always sets the fashion and since Celene (if that is indeed Celene) cut her hair short, everyone else follows suit. Perfect explanation!
Interesting. Reminds me of Emperor Hadrian, who was the first Roman emperor to grow out his beard because he wanted to emulate the Greeks...and suddenly every man in the empire stopped shaving ![]()
(I keep seeing Emperor Hadrian in Celene. He was also famous for making peace and promoting culture...and also ran to put down a revolt with violence when any other more peaceful reaction would have looked politically bad. He also had no children, but a partner who was his famous great love. I doubt Celene will declare Briala a goddess and build temples to her, though.)

My thoughts exactly.
As for the Inquisitor's outfit, I actually wonder if it will be the same for all races (we've only seen pictures of human Inquisitors in the ball, after all). It probably will, since we're there as the leader of the Inquisition first and foremost, but I'm holding out hope that my Dalish character could wear something more elven. But at least that uniform's better-looking than what Hawke wore.

I can't judge her face with that Shot, though I'm not a big fan of the hairstyle, and not because it's short.
