I'll start with a lady rogue, because I always do. I am still trying to 100% decide between elf and human, but I think I'm going human first since I usually dig city elves more than the Dalish and the human background of being given to the Chantry at a young age interests me. I will follow close to my own opinions for the first playthrough and design her to look a little like me - my first characters usually do.
So who has a definite 1st playthrough character planned?

Female elven mage. Nechro spec.
Looking forward to accessing the keep and getting a juicing world state for her to play in.

Oh yeah I hear that.
But it's awesome to hear from the community in this, and the kind words. I honestly don't mind re-starting the game over and over I mean it's a bit annoying but I've done it with every BioWare rpg so far.
Maybe it's just habit at this point.
Still it's great hearing how you guys are planning your characters. Keep them coming!
Wait, so you do want to hear about our characters? Okay then... long story short, I'm going to play as a True Neutral elven mage who eventually becomes a Knight Enchahter. His primary goal is ending the demon invasion that threatens his clan, so he'll be relying on his human allies and advisors to help make political decisions. For the longest time I was set on a Lawful Evil elven warrior, but the magic system looks like too much fun to pass on, so that character can wait...
I'm only using one world state for all imports, however... those will involve an elven maleficar Warden and a warrior Hawke who was drawn to the Templar cause.

I didn't have too hard of a time to come up with my main character.
My Warden was a warrior, and Hawke was a rogue, so I felt my Inquisitor should be a mage. I also felt mage was suitable for the fancy rift power we get.
I knew I wanted Cullen as my character's romance because of his involvement the past two games, and I think it would make a interesting romance with a mage. Y'know since he's a templar and all. So when he was confirmed as a romance for female only characters, that decided my character's gender.
I was a little torn between human and elf, but then it was revealed that the Trevelyan family is a noble family with strong ties to the chantry. That pretty much sealed the deal because there's so much RP goodness there for a mage PC.
Yeah so, human female mage. I tend to go with what I feel will have the most interesting RP story and background, and that will be the one for me.

Actually stuck between two awesome choices.
My male Human Mage, Gale Trevelyan, master of Winter
My male Qunari Mage, Lugh Adaar, master of the Inferno

I know I want to play a human female archery rogue, and I have a rough idea of what I want her to look like, but I don't have any firm plans for 'who' she will be yet. I'll just go with what feels right once I start playing.

I like what I see of the archer, and the previews of talents and skills. It opens the door to playing a different type of character first, and the option to pick a different race. That alone has me excited.
Once I get the game started I'll make the pick.

Thought about playing a rogue because the companions I'm most excited about are all warriors. However, I sort of want to embrace the Herald of Andraste title wholeheartedly, so a warrior fits the whole saviour/champion archetype better.

I have 7 definite PC's planned. Elinen Lavellan my practical rogue assassin will be first. Her only bias will be toward her Dalish people. I have short stories written for her and two more characters. I am working on stories for the rest to flesh them out and cement their personalities in my mind. I often find writing a bit of dialog helps me choose who I want to play first.
And for Keep choices - Elinen gets the imports from my canon DAO and DAI runs where I did not expose myself to spoilers and made some choices I regretted later. Later characters will get different sets of Keep choices, but all true to DAO and DAI choices I made with the associated character.

Still on the fence, I've ruled out Rouge so now it's between Qunari Mage and Dwarf Warrior. If I could the best of both worlds would be Dwarf Mage but that's a no go LOL.

Male Elf Pyromancer/Necromancer. Red eyes and hair!
Master of the Inferno school of magic who loves the idea of being mistaken for the Herald of Andraste. He will use this power and influence to further his own ambitious ideals of Elves ruling once more, he is inspired by the legend and stories of my Warden from Origins who was an Elven Bloodmage. He also loves the fact that he is going to embrace the Herald of Andraste while being a necromancer and is looking forward to being feared.
He will be ruthless towards Templars and anyone who is racist towards elves. If there's anything we can do to help our Dalish clan it will be a first priority. He will probably clash with any party member who doesn't enjoy chaos and mayhem!

My first character will absolutely be a qunari, Im just on the fence of what gender i'll be playing. I kinda want my "canon" char to be female for a change, but somehow not playing a male in the first run feels wrong to me.
Anyhow we'll see, ultimately i'll be fiddling around with the CC and decide then. I may even change my mind completely and go with say a dwarf ![]()

If I go with a human mage, I'm naming him, "Scorn." He likes to throw spells, and jars of bees on people after he's blasted the hell outta them. He's a bit chaotic, crass, and well...scornful. He Will help people, and try to behave/live up to the responsibilities placed on his shoulders. Seizing power as the Inquisitor gives him a focus that life as a former Circle mage didn't.
If I go with the rogue archer his or her name will be "Wrath." Wrath will be elven, and brings pain and death to battle. He finds humor in being treachous, and will do what it takes to win. Wrath is very anti hero, mercenary, yet smart enough to know leading the Inquisition is a serious game changer.

I'm going to be a Female Human Mage (Rift Mage focus) who romances Iron Bull; morality: full-on goodie two-shoes Paragon.

Some really cool Inquisitor stories I'm seeing here. I'd love to be able to just sit down and watch them unfold. Haha.
Well I'm gonna think harder about how I want to start my 1st playthrough. Like I said, I'm leaning towards Archer or Mage (not sure what kind but whatever) and maybe Male because I adore Viv... maybe I'm closer to deciding than I thought.
But you guys are awesome. Keep it up, maybe it'll help others who are having trouble deciding. THE HYPE IS REALYOU GUYS.

Because I can't decide.
I thought I did but eff me the possibilties are just too many. I'm sure I'm gonna end up doing what I do all the time and start the game 30 times before I finally decide on a character to go the length with the 1st time.
How about you? I'm not asking who your character is, who your planned romance is etc. I'm asking if you already know what you're gonna be doing for your 1st (or only ) playthrough of DA:I.
As we get closer to release date I get more and more excited. I just don't know if my body is ready for this.

At least with the Keep they will be easy to create ;D

Qunari male warrior and now that I've heard Jon Curry's very exceptional performance, I'm not worried about the voice anymore. It's perfect for a qunari.
Not planning out any other details because I don't know who I'm really going to like or what decisions will make sense with no context.

Male Mage Necromancer. I need to see the character creator before settling on human, Quinari, or elf. Who ever has the look in my head I can tease out goes first. Species does not matter, it's all skin tones, eyes, lips, and facial shape.

I will do a Male warrior either Templar or champion
I base my ch after a knight from a older game so high morals but is willing to listen and take the best course of action
