I have a pretty solid idea of what I want to play(race/class/romance/general appearance/name) but who knows if that will change when I jump into the character creator.
Generally speaking I don't ever restart... I just plan for future playthroughs.

Sex: Male
Race: Quanari
Class: Mage
Build: Rift Mage/ Fire/ Spirit Mage
Alignment: Diplomatic
Main Party: Vivienne, Iron Bull, Cole/ Varric
Secondary Party: Vivienne, Dorian, Solas (Team mage slaughter) Imagine using fire/ ice wall X 4, boxing in enemies then AOE spell mayhem. ![]()
Romance: Josephine most likely if any.
Difficulty: Hard
I have my world state ready:
DAO: Male, Elf Mage that had a god baby with Morrigan (who was romanced). My bro Alistair is the King
DA2: Male, Mage Diplomat romanced Isabella
A Quanari mage as the head of the Inquisition should definitely turn a lot of heads. ![]()
Elven female mage (knight enchanter). Probably going to romance Sera. Continue to support mages playing off of previous playthrough in which I:
Supported templars in DA:O as warrior, and supported mages in DA2 as a rouge.
Have 3 diferent playthroughs I intend to use. One will be made using the keep for the hardcore gruesome decisions I dared not use in a playthrough.
Actually, how can you know the age of the character...? I got some feelings that your character's going to be forced as somewhere in 18-30 years old... In Origins I played a Cousland and everyone keep reminding me that I'm the "young man/young lady". Just wish that we can choose the age of our character... I've always want to play a character that's old and wise and cool like Obi-Wan Kenobi in the original Star Wars...
Anyway, I'm planning to do either a very skeptical and self aware female human/dalish mage or either an epic selfless hero-type male human warrior. I'm a sucker for stereotype...
But, the best will always be: Male Qunari Rogue. Showing everyone that being a discreet Assassin doesn't mean that you needs to be small. Size does NOT matter. Mwa Ha Ha

We've been told that the Inquisitor is somewhere between 20-40. I'm planning to make my Inquisitor look 40. I'll be romancing Cass who is pushing 40 herself in a few years so thats the way I'm going.

Nice! At last! I've always wanted to play as a more aged character, since in Origin that Cousland boy can't surely be 40, and the mage is surely quite young (late teen - mid twenty max). Everyone else seems quite around 30-40 (Cassandra, Cullen, Blackwall, Iron Bull, Vivienne, Varric) so it'll make more sense to have an Inquisitor who's not at his/her late teens.
When DA:Keep gets released, flip a coin for every decision in there. Then, flip a coin for what gender you play, what race you play, and what decisions you make and there is your character.
Race: Qunari
Gender: Female
Class: Mage [Knight Enchanter]
Role: Defensive Tank Melee Fighter. Uses abilities from Spirit and Knight Enchanter trees to defend team.
Because I can't decide.
I thought I did but eff me the possibilties are just too many. I'm sure I'm gonna end up doing what I do all the time and start the game 30 times before I finally decide on a character to go the length with the 1st time.
How about you? I'm not asking who your character is, who your planned romance is etc. I'm asking if you already know what you're gonna be doing for your 1st (or only ) playthrough of DA:I.
As we get closer to release date I get more and more excited. I just don't know if my body is ready for this.
what i always do my cannon character first she is a mage/warden/elf
then take my character that does everything oppsite of my cannon character, he is a templar/warden/human
and then explore with both characters and try to get every achivement that i can get with both of them doing what ever they do to earn said achivements
and after that play a different{ new races} race and see how the story plays out for them so that way i can see and feel what they would be for them to play in the world after my hero's path changed the world around them and see the reactions of the inhabiants of the world
I am definitely set on:
Talan Adaar
male, qunari, two-handed warrior (not sure the specs yet - not reaver, though)
light silver skinned, close cropped white hair, full beard, horns (not sure which ones yet)
I want him to look as untypically qunari as possible. I want the most "normal" haircut on him and don't want any qunari face-paint or tattoos showing.
Has no interest in the Qun and sees his Qunari peers as a cult-like hive-mind. Is definitively not Andrastian and will buck the religious claptrap that Cassandra and Leliana lay on him. Will be pro-circle with reform. Is anti-slavery and anti-racism. Supports the elves in theory, but has little first-hand experience with them. Reluctant mercenary - as in, he does it because that's the opportunity that's been offered to him and he's good at it, but he sees the Inquisition as his ticket to a different life. Will romance either Dorian or Iron Bull (probably Dorian, but I'm not ruling out IB). Somewhat of a 'boy scout', 'do-gooder' type, who has a dry sense of humor.
Sex: Male
Race: Dwarf
Class: Warrior
Build: Weapon & Shield/Vanguard/Champion
Main Party: Blackwall/Iron Bull, Dorian, Sera
Romance: Dorian
Difficulty: Normal
Choosing a race, sex, and class is not an issue. The reason I start and then start over and over again is my poor talent of making the perfect character design. I'll see other NPCs in game or other peoples characters in the forums and wish my character looked better since I'm spending so many hours looking at him/her. Luckily, with the latest CC, it seems that our characters will look so much better than we've been able to manage before.
First run will be a female elf mage. I really do hope we find more decent mages in this story than in DA2. I felt like I was the only one immune to blood magic and the demons.
I do! *waves arms* Male Human Mage rping as a Tevinter Magister
Sex: Female
Race: Human
Class: Mage [Rift Mage]
Alignment: Diplomatic/Sarcastic
Main party: Cassandra, Iron Bull, Sera
Secondary Party: Cole, Blackwall, Solas
Romance: Cullen
Human female mage, probably Knight Enchanter. Will go with Alix Wilton Regan voice and name her Samantha Adeline Trevelyan. Will play her mostly good and depending on the RP choices may make her a little stuck up and have her romance Sera. That should be interesting. Will import my (mostly good) female mage Warden and female mage Hawke. Always play female mage on the first playthrough. The second will be the hard one to decide.
Pretty much almost everyone in here.
Sex: Male
Race: Dwarf
Class: Rogue (Not decided on bow or daggers)
Romance: Cassandra
Main party: Cass, Blackwall, Varric.
Secondary party: Cole, Solas, Sera.
Third party for exploration (Side quests): Viv, Dorian, Iron Bull.
I will no doubt change the party around but for now that is what I'm going with.
Yep, human female mage Maelyn Trevelyan planned out in considerable detail. This will be part of my pro-mage storyline and consequently focus on the mage companions, including Vivienne, one of which will always be in my party. Romance probably Blackwall, since this is not an elf, who will consequently be the primary party's warrior. Cole as the most "magical" of the rogues.
My elven female mage is proudly Dalish and a bit of an ice queen. I really liked the quote from the Hero of Thedas trailer "All this happened because of fanatics and arguments about the next world. It's time we start believing in this one" and will use it to shape her character. She'll try to approach the mage/templar war and the various civil war from an objective, outsider's perspective. All decisions she makes will be for the benefit of the Inquisition; sometimes she'll make the hard, potentially ruthless decisions if she sees a greater outcome from them. Name will be Alysanne Lavellan, again inspired by the Targaryens of the ASOIAF series ... which means she'll have the trademark Targaryen silver hair and violet eyes.
Whoever I decide to go with, I have a world state nailed down and my first romance planned. Queen Cousland double daggers rogue and a sarcastic female mage Hawke. Romancing Cullen.

ooh, didn't see that thread. Now I am going to try and fill out those questions for my first character Navilia Trevelyan. Thanks for linking that thread ![]()
Female elf mage who will romance Solas. I haven't got anymore detail than that because I hate having the game contradict my headcanon.
Welp,
My personal default world state had a male Dalish Elf rogue from Origins and FemHawke mage from DA2. I'm about 99% positive that the first playthrough I'll have will continue this world state with a male Human warrior. The Elf from DAO was friendly and inquisitive and enjoyed helping people; FemHawke was a wise-ass but at the end of the day she had a heart of gold and always did her best to try and do (at least what she thought) was the right thing. I think my Inquisitor is going to try and follow this path. He'll be a bit wary and hesitant at first, considering what he just lived through and all, but sooner rather than later he'll realize he's been given an opportunity to right a lot of wrongs and help a lot of people and he's gonna do his best to live up to his title. He'll likely favor avoiding bloodshed if possible, so diplomacy first, espionage second and military options last.
