I'll be playing a male human warrior who's a devout Andrastian as my first playthrough, because it feels like the most natural fit for the position of the Inquisitor and I want to romance Cassandra.  I'll embrace the title of Herald of Andraste and the demigod status that comes with it.  Once I've played through the game with a personality I'm sure will work story-wise, I'll switch things up a bit for subsequent playthroughs in a way that seems logical.  A female Qunari rogue, personality TBD, and a female elven mage, personality also TBD, are high on my list of potentials.

Ha! When I made this topic I honestly expected a few more people to be in my boat, not 99% of you to have your Inquisitor planned. But it's awesome seeing the imagination in this board at work. Some really cool Inquisitors, guys. Again, I'd love to be able to watch your stories. 

 

I expect to be in the CC for about an hour before I find the right design, but that's another topic for another day.

I /was/ planning on Imperia Trevelyan as my canon Inquisitor (hardline Templar who wants to wipe out the mage threat once and for all, with a shameless racist streak regarding elves) but decided that she would simply bar too much content for a first playthrough. Instead I'm going with Akia Cadash, a female Dwarf Rogue (Archery, Assassin), who's basically a copy of my canon Warden; a hard little lady who thinks that any extreme is acceptable in the name of saving the world, with little tolerance for the weak.

I always go rogue. Maybe Dwarf.
Should I play a second playthrough I'll go Mage, elven or qunari.
Shloud They have succeeded at the daunting task of making the warrior not boring, I'll go with whichever race I've not played beside human.

A Vashoth mage who's way too curious for his own good. Tell him "that box is full of demons, don't open it", and he will open it so fast that either he or the demons will be dead by the time you turn around to check that he hasn't.

Others might enjoy how interested he is in their lives, but they'd probably be less enamored with his interest in forbidden tomes, and his stubborn insistence to let demons explain themselves rather than killing them outright. If the demon's offer sounds good to him, he has no qualms about accepting.

Life is a grand experiment.

(in general, curiosity is a good trait for a first PC, since it will mesh well with my own behavior on a first playthrough)

Male Dwarf Warrior, is for sure my first guy.  The path he'll walk and the companions he'll plough are still up in there air(as is the world he'll play in) but there is nothing that will persuade me to not do the Dwarf.  The Dwarven origins are my two favourite in Origins, and I still main a Dwarf Warrior in WoW even though I hate the other Alliance races, my love for Dwarves is too much to not play one.

I'm using the same appearance I always do when there is a CC option-- basically, it's what I like to call a stern Southern European badass look.

Meh, I don't really like planning out player characters beforehand. I tend to give only a small amount of thought to who exactly my character is going to be - I prefer slowly getting to know my character over time, which probably sounds strange given that each PC is a blank slate at the beginning. I usually just pick an race/class/origin that sounds appealing and roll with it - the character sort of grows the more I play, eventually becoming someone truly unique. To me, everything feels way more natural that way.

 

 

I guess it makes sense that I prefer this way, because I generally take a, "develop the story as you go along" approach to my writing.

I like to make the heroes dif between games. Origins was a dalish dude warrior, da2 was a chick mage hawke, so prob gonna go dude qunari rouge first go round

A once idealistic Cadash who has become world weary and bears the Inquisition as a heavy burden. She will run mostly with Cassandra, Vivienne, and Sera who she will romance. She favors spies over diplomacy or Military, and hopefully in the end her tale can be hopeful.

Is it weird that I have my second playthrough planned out but not my first? Team YOLO won my heart but I want to save that for a Sera romance playthrough, so it goes second.

 

My first playthrough? No idea what race. No idea what class. No idea what specialization. It's gonna be the same thing as Halloween where I try and plan this awesome costume and then it's October 31st and I panic and throw together some old rags and a goddamn volleyball and call myself Tom Hanks.

 

What I'm saying is I'm in Rock's boat.

It's going to be a female mage, but not sure if elf or qunari.

And I have no idea about specialization.

I'm not settled yet. I'm leaning towards a female dwarf rogue, but I doubt I'll be completely certain until I've gotten to play around in the character creator...
