It's because dwarves look weird in general.
Male Dwarves just seem kinda off...

It's just the specific dwarf they were using. They don't use 'perfect' faces in the streams.

You could say the Dwarves don't STAND UP to scrutiny, eh?

I think the dwarves look good - especially the Dwarfquisitor in the Storm Coast twitch.
If dwarves could mage - I'd dwarf so hard.

The dwarf in the OP has kind of a derpy expression, but I'm sure you can avoid that in the CC.
Introduceing Derpy the 9th Dwarf.... right behind Surley.

I think a big part of it is that the guys making the dwarf in question were going for that look. Either that, or they weren't very good with the character creation system.

Well, he's not exactly dashing by any means, but that particular dwarf is definitely a well-made character for what they're going for. Much better than they looked before.
I agree, especially in contrast to the dwarves in DAO. I don't know if it's just me, but the DAO dwarves' cheeks were a little too exaggerated. They looked a little potato-y (if that makes any sense).

I have to agree with this. I know exactly what you mean. It kind of felt like their cheeks were padded with marshmellows.

The problem with that dwarf is that he's missing the most crucial accessory for a dwarf: a huge mug of ale.

I don't know what it is but they look off...
See he looks strange. And in the new stream they did today where they used the Dwarf he had the same strange look. Maybe it was this Dwarf they were using? They just do not look as up to snuff as everything else we have seem...
Oh man I hope I can scar up my dorfs face like that. She is gonna be more than ready and willing to get tf out of the carta into any other line of work.

These unpredictable experts specialize in using alchemical mixtures that wreathe them in frost or flame. Fast, chaotic, and possibly mad, they wade into the fight and dare enemies to face the storm.
This will be such a fun spec to use. Especially if i can craft daggers that have a chance to cast chain lightning on hit.
Face the dwarven storm

looks hawt.
This is what Patrick Weekes had to say about tempest when i asked him on twitter
" Very powerful, if you go deep, but my mind does not work right for making the most of it. Several distinct buffs"
