Lets just make it clear that nothing is really clear about demons or spirits. There is no compelling evidence what the Chantry says is true (which is what WOT is based on) and the Dalish belief about Fade might be the correct one.
At the end its all speculation. However I'd like to add spirit of Hope are so powerful and very vey rarely seen in the waking world since little there attracts them.

Yeah even rage demons can become more powerful than pride demons it depends of what kind of deals they are pursuing. For example a desire demon is normally stronger than a rage demons but if that desire demon is simply giving out pleasure/lust to people so it can feed, It is not going to be as powerful as a rage demon that is helping a king or queen achieve vengeance or helping them get retribution on a person or even a country. I recall them mentioning this in the codex but I can't remember where.

I've always been wondering how the pride demon at the circle tower in DA:O was such a pushover when the Sloth demon before him appeared a LOT more powerful by force-sleeping your party to enter the fade and be a bigger combat challenge overall. That sloth demon in the DA:O circle tower was my favorite part of Origins.

Funny enough a mod that removed that was really popular on nexus and surprisingly it was just host of comments saying it just looked bloody silly and can't help laughing at it.

Just out of curiosity since you guys seem more lore-wise on this than me. How come that demon/human possessions always become 100% demon controlled and justice/hope benevolent merges becomes 50/50'ish control?
Is it not possible to merge with a pride/desire/sloth etc demon and maintain a balance of control over the organism? Or be human dominant? I've always wanted my main character to merge with a pride demon, I'm just wondering if this is "100% demon controlled abomination" is inevitable OR if it is because the human hosts we have seen are too weak to wrestle main control?

I would say that it is inevitable that the demon will eventually take control of its host entirely. The reason demons possess things in the first place is that they want to be able to interact with the physical world, and that ends up requiring complete control over the host. You can't interact with whatever you want when someone else is calling the shots.
In contrast, benevolent spirits don't really want anything to do with mortals, so when they do end up in a body with a mortal, they don't seem to want to seize control.
So even if the host is insanely powerful, cruel, cunning, wicked and powerhungry - would welcome the pride demon. And give the Pride demon what he wants "Too see the world" - the Pride demon would still - most likely - do everything in its power to seize control fully? The saying "Evil brings men together" comes to mind and "The enemy of my enemy is my friend". As highly smart demons (Am I wrong?) couldnt the unlikely perverted friendship of a 50/50 controlled pride + mortal host occur?

Damn, I wish I had known about this before. Seriously! I always give nude mods and the like a wide berth so that's why I probably haven't seen it, but that always struck me as the epitome of silliness.
