So I'm starting this thread because I want to see if there are people out there that are just as crazy as I am. The demos and trailers for Inquisition have been fueling my madness for some time now.... but the tipping point was when the PC specs were revealed. When the PC system specs were revealed for DAI, I realized that I couldn't play Inquisition the way I wanted to. So, I decided to change that.

Not going to post exact figures on here, but if you recognize these parts you'll probably get the jist of just how much money I've sunk into a new rig worthy of Inquisition (and future titles, in my defense).

CPU: Intel Core i7-4790K Processor (8M Cache, up to 4.40 GHz) --Overclocked

Graphics Card: 2 of EVGA GTX980 Superclocked ACX 2.0 4GB GDDR5 256bit, DVI-I, DP x 3, HDMI in SLI --Further Overclocked

Motherboard: ASUS SABERTOOTH Z97 MARK1 ATX DDR3 2600 LGA 1150

RAM: Crucial Ballistix Sport 16GB Kit (8GBx2) DDR3 1600 MT/s (PC3-12800) CL9 @1.5V UDIMM 240-Pin

HDD: 3 of Seagate Desktop ST4000DM000 HDD 4 TB SATA 6Gb/s NCQ 64MB Cache 3.5-Inch Internal Bare Drive 5900rpm

SSD: Crucial M500 960GB SATA 2.5-Inch 7mm (with 9.5mm adapter/spacer) Internal Solid State Drive  --For OS and Inquisition

Sound Card: Sound Blaster Z PCIe Gaming Sound Card with High Performance Headphone Amp and Beam Forming Microphone

CPU Cooler: Noctua 6 Dual Heatpipe with 140mm/130mm Dual SSO Bearing Fans CPU Cooler NH-D14

Case: Cooler Master HAF X - Full Tower Computer Case with High Airflow Windowed Side Panel and USB 3.0

---Grand total of 10 fans (includes GPU ACX model fans) running passive when possible

Sound System: Corsair Gaming Audio Series SP2500 High-Power 2.1 PC Speaker System

Monitor: Acer XB280HK bprz Black 28" 1ms 4K Widescreen LED Backlight G-sync LCD Monitor300 cd/m2 1000:1

Plus some other stuff like optical drive, power supply, mouse/keyboard, and internet card.

So, what crazy lengths have you guys gone to in order to play Inquisition the way you want? Include system builds, vacation times, "sick days", sending the wife and kids on a vacation, or anything else you can think of.

Wow, anyone who has done this gets a thumbs up from me. That is just pure dedication in its most precious form.

I've been updating my system over the last 4 months since I was attempting to upgrade for ArcheAge. I just replaced my processor last week with an AMD FX 8350 (8 Core 4.0ghz) in an attempt to get my last piece upgraded before Inquisition. I recognize most of your hardware since I just upgraded. You spent even more than I did.

But hey, that's a pretty beastly PC man.

Inquisition, max graphics goooooo........

Not sure if it is the hype or if Im suffering from major gaming addiction. But I am actually afraid to die IRL before getting to finish DA:I.

I'm looking like twice as much before crossing the road. I avoid unnecessary trips out of my apartment. I started working out. I started eating healthier. Since about a month ago, the thought of "What if I die before getting to experience DA:I?" entered my head and since then I started living a healthier life and became paranoid of doing anything that would increase the risk of dying.

Not sure if this is sad/pathetic or if it is understandable. But the crazy lengths I've gone to revolves around not dying before I've finnished the game ;)

You know I was debating getting an AMD processor, but I've always ran with Intel and was too chicken to change it up. How is that CPU treating you?

EDIT: I really wanted an 8 core but the intel 5000 series seems to run at slower speed than the 4 core 4790K

Don't over work yourself... the stress could kill you. Just sit around in a bean bag chair for a, well less than a month now, and hope all goes well.

So we should reduce our numbers to the point of extinction in order to play this game?

... I like it.  :D

I decided to take my vacation the week that it comes out. I haven't had any time off since February and I really need it. I noticed I've been a bit crabby at work. Not good when you work with the public.

That's hilarious and yes, mildly paranoid lol. But you're clinging to life for all the right reasons, I love it.

I don't have kids, so that helps sort out a bunch of potential time issues.

Otherwise, I took Tuesday-Friday off work that week, so I can go pick it up at midnight and play pretty much unfettered through to the end of the weekend save for taking care of the pets and hubby and seeing to my own biological needs.

Who needs food and water when you have virtual food and water?

Not so much the food and water, but bathroom breaks in the beginning could be troublesome. I am NOT installing a chamberpot in my bean bag chair. Hopefully by Day 3 of no food or water, that little problem will work itself out. ;)

Two Months ago I requested November 18, 19, and 20th off.

With vacation time being used I'm basically being played to play

Inquistion...or that's what I'm going to tell myself.

And why not? It's actually an incredibly useful feature. In fact, I'm using mine at this very moment so excuse me...
