I'm not a big fan of Ubisoft at the moment, and besides: I could not cheat on Bioware.
I'm just referring to how demanding it is.

I know i'm momentarily derailing this thread but is AC unity still capped at 30 FPS? And yes the specs are crazy.
Edit: And actually to put this back on track I don't think I even understand why Inquisition would be at such a more efficient requirement set and ACU is so demanding.. is it the number of NPCs in the other one? Cuz Inquisition's graphics seem drop-dead gorgeous to me and I don't really see other games right now that are boasting better ones.
I upgraded my 570 to a 970 :3

It was never capped at 30 FPS. That was BS (Not you saying BS, to be clear, just that rumor).
AC U is next-gen only, so the graphical requirements are going to be more demanding. However, even I feel that the game MUST be abominably optimized.

Interesting. Yeah I'd think so. If Bioware can manage to get a game on a Frostbite 3 engine play on a GT 8800 I don't know what's going on with Ubisoft. I guess if it's exclusively next-gen... but still.

Ubi is kind of notorious for bad ports. I've never had a problem with them, but they're known for it.
Anyway...DA I.
Got a new computer, and requested a week off from work (with PTO of course).
Debating with myself whether I take off a few days. Probably need to decide by the end of the week.
I envy people who can get away with paid time off for inquisition lol
Graphics Card: 2 of EVGA GTX980 Superclocked ACX 2.0 4GB GDDR5 256bit, DVI-I, DP x 3, HDMI in SLI --Further Overclocked
You got a 980???
luckyyyyyyy
Edit: 2 of them??? Preparing for some 4k are we? ![]()

I was fortunate enough to save up most of my PTO to take the 18th off. It's a tuesday, but I get stay up ALL night on the 17th until the next morning playing. Least to say I'm super stoked for an allnighter. Haven't done those in awhile lol.
On a side-note, my supervisor asked with curiosity why I chose to take a 'Tuesday' off and not a Friday or Monday for a 3-day weekend. I told him it's dragon age! He proceeded to shake his head in empathy...

edit: Definitely 4k. The 980's and 970's are basically sold out everywhere though, so still haven't gotten them. I placed my order for them on the 11th and they still haven't shipped.... it's the last missing part of my build >.>

That's hilarious that you flat-out told your boss you're taking off to play Dragon Age lol
I will be bartending three doubles in a row in order to pay off my PS4 I bought specifically for this game and the uber inquisitor box edition, plus so I could trade shifts to have a week off. 45 hours in three days, RIP my feet.
Also had to buy my boyfriends WoW expansion coming out, so I could bribe him into letting me basically neglect the household for that week. The struggle is real, folks.
In August, I spent ~$500 on upgrades to my computer (PSU, GPU, monitor). I got it up and running and a week later it was fried by a freak lightning storm.
I could have settled for a relatively inexpensive PC for school/work and DAI on either our 360 or PS3. Instead, I sweet-talked my way into full refunds for the upgrade components that were killed and ended up spending about $1000 on a desktop that should run DAI on high/ultra settings.
As for time off, I'm just taking online classes right now. If I can get everything due the week of the 18th turned in by the 17th, I'll have a good ten+ days of uninterrupted play time because of Thanksgiving Break (I don't do Thanksgiving, so no obligations there).

That is just pure bad luck.
neglecting your spousal and parental duties for a video game is "pure" and "precious"?
Ordinarily I would say "no" but this is Dragon Age.......new Dragon Age.....

maybe i'm lucky with being in ohio but looking at the microcenters here there is at least 21 970/980s in stock in one store.
Here I was thinking I was the only taking extreme measures for this game, hell for the next year I'll be working off the money from this new rig, next time someone says what would you do for that new video game, I'm slapping them... I just know when I finish paying this stuff that new damn Mass Effect will be coming out and that little guilty pleasure will resurface and I'll be selling my soul again... Yet I'll be in a corner somewhere playing Dragon Age mumbling it was so worth it.
Luckily since the game will be released on a friday I don't have to take time off work.
I did buy an advent calendar when there were only 24 days to go. Family thinks I'm crazy but to hell with them. I feel like a child before christmas! Oooh the excitement!!!!
