I'm going in the opposite direction from the OP.  I just don't have the money right now to sink into an XBONE, so I cancelled my pre-order and am now getting it on the 360.  There's no way that I won't be able to play this on release day and if it means that I have to sacrifice some of the beauty in the game, I'm willing to make that decision so that I can experience the story.  When I upgrade, I might upgrade this game as well.  It looks good enough that I would be willing to drop $120 buying two version of the game.

Actually you're the sane one. I think it's damn sensible to scrape by with whatever you can tolerate and still enjoy the game in the process.

I only play PC games but in the past when I went to Gamestop for mid release it was always funny seeing the massive line then someone gets cought because there boss is in the same line granted they don't say anything they are both guilty but now you and your boss have something you both like to do that is to play games. Either way I spent a fair sum months earlier I will be able to run this on ultra if I can run titan fall and b4 on max I will be able to run this on max. Also I pre ordered the game the game pre downloads on the 14th and it says I can play it on 9pm on the 17th it says it will be available at that time anyways.

I have the 18th throughs the 21st off (asked for it). I have the weekends off (additional two days to play). I am buying xbox1 next week, along with a sound system for my 60 inch LED tv. I have verizon fios quantum, and will call to see if there is faster internet speed! (For mp purposes lol).

I'm not going to take time off of work like I have in the past to play a game at release. I used to rush through playing Bioware's games at release because I was so excited, but I don't want to take that approach anymore. I want to enjoy the game at a relaxed pace.

 

I will admit that I recently purchased a new monitor and gtx 970 video card but there were several reasons for that including that I needed a major upgrade for those and the gtx 970 is a great card at a decent price.

Well, I am going to be away on vacation on the very first day of release... so I said to practically all people I know I'll be returning about a week later than I really will be. So I will have the whole week to play with as little distraction as possible.))

 Include system builds, vacation times, "sick days", sending the wife and kids on a vacation, or anything else you can think of.

From just listening around different social media sites, I've heard that there are a bunch of people taking sick/vacation days from work.  I would do the same, but many of my classes have in-class participation points/I can only get certain handouts in class.  On the bright side, I don't have class on the day it comes out.

It looks like I'll be booked for surgery just beforehand with a minimum of four weeks recovery time. I believe the date was set by my willpower alone. I knew there was a silver lining to having my insides trying to force their way out through my groin. Hopefully the month playing Inquisition will be worth the months I've spent bored out of my mind.

I just got a ps4 last month along with a nice headset + surround sound upgrade.

I do have a kid. But my awesome girlfriend is taking the kid over to her sister's for the week. And she offered to do this, I didn't even say anything, so she's just awesome like that.

We have "in-class participation points" too and it drives me nuts. I would arrive either way, but it just pisses me off that I'll be docked on the off-chance that I'm late one day. I'm old enough to attend school on my own, and I'm paying for it afterall.. I don't need to sign a damn sign-in sheet for every class! GRRRRRRRRR.
