I think "the 21st in Europe" is just BW covering themselves. If you live in Europe and you get it before 21st Nov, then that's great, but otherwise the 21st is just latest you could expect to get it.
That's a fair point. I can imagine some people would scream blue murder at them for "lying about all Europeans getting the game on the 20th" or something.

Its not new this happens with almost every game that comes out.

I'm fairly certain you're wrong. Please be so kind and name all the European countries that have 20th as release date. I know about Sweden (and maybe Norway and / or other Nordic countries?).
I assure you unfortunately UK is not the only European country that has 21th as release date (the other one is Ireland).
Edit: I've checked and 20-th really seems to be the release date. Weird since in Europe we usually get games in Friday. However, I'm not complaining
Nice I live in Sweden good to know.

I know I shouldn't be that sensitive to it, but unfortunately I am. Constantly it is said that the release date is 18th for the US and the 21st in the EU, but that simply isn't the case. As far as I know and can look up, the release date for all of Europe is the 20th, the only country in the EU where it comes out the 21st, is the UK.
Don't get me wrong, I am glad they mention the European release date and that it actually is earlier than what they state, but the fact that the UK is the only English speaking country doesn't mean the rest of Europe doesn't see or read these announcements or that the UK is the only relevant country in Europe.
So please, BioWare, keep that in mind next time you make an announcement regarding release dates or something similar.
So many things wrong with this post.
Firstly, the UK is not a country but a group of 4 countries, England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.
Secondly, Ireland is also an English speaking country, it also doesn't get the game until the 21st.
Thirdly, the later release date is an issue with retailers, not with suppliers or developers.

You're being too harsh towards the OP. First of all, the term country can be used to refer a sovereign state. In that sense, UK is indeed a country. Especially us non-British heathens tend to use this loose definition of a country. Just bear with it.
On the second point, you're correct. Ireland gets the game on the 21st. Still, with just UK and Ireland, it's a bit of a stretch to call it the European release date.
Lastly, Bioware has some responsibility over the confusion about the date when they themselves have communicated on some videos that the European release is on the 21st, when for most of us Europeans, it isn't. It's not a big deal, but I was confused at the beginning too. Miscommunication might be the reason why some retailers in Europe are using the wrong date.

I've no clue about that. You can check for yourself. Change the country on the bottom right (change the flag). Realease date is on the upper right.
For Russia it shows 20th

Fellow Brits if you wanna blame anyone for our release schedules blame Curries and Dixons (Eurogamer did an article about it some time ago that explained it nicely) As for our friend/rivals on the continent remember that UK is still one of the biggest gaming Markets in the English Speaking world (emphasis on English) And all the marketing i've seen has been in Our Queen's tongue and thus we get 18th & 21st. It could be worse like they when forget that the rest of the World Exists only advertise to NA I hate that

I think a more annoying issue is the language lock on Origin's store.

The UK is a country and it consists of 4 countries (and a lot of islands). The word country can be used in both cases, as a source I use wikipedia, on which you can find multiple sources which explain it: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Country.
About your second point: http://en.wikipedia....blic_of_Ireland, Irish is the official national language of Ireland (even though English is more commonly used). More importantly however is the fact that there is no separate page for Ireland on http://dragonage.com, so I wasn't sure when it would arrive there.
On the third point, I am not talking about the later release date being a problem in this thread. I am talking about the wrong use of the term EU for the release dates, which is both plain wrong (imagine how the USA or Canada would react it you would say NA, but actually only mean Mexico) and leads to confusion to both customers and retailers. Since this is an error BioWare (or EA) is making, since they state it wrong, I am pretty sure I should post it here.

That's definitely annoying, especially if you are on a holiday, but also in multilingual countries or if you simply prefer the original language. But that's something for the Origin forums.

England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland are referred to as seperate countries, which collectively form the sovereign state known as the UK, but if you wish to include the 4 of those in the definition of country based on it being a sovereign state then you also need to include the fourteen British Overseas Territories that are also part of the sovereign state.
As for your second point, i'm aware of what we speak here in Ireland, and since the late 19th century english has been the predominant first language. Therefore we are an English speaking country.
Your last point is fair enough, given that you have clarified what you meant in your OP.

And if the Screenshot from someones Origin Account flying somewhere around in the DA:I Forum, is not Faked / Photoshopped, then Canada can already Preload the Game on November 14 and Play on November 17.
Yeah its dumb that we have to wait to play that Game around a Week after we have Preloaded it. Totally nonsense with Digital Products. I am sure, latest 48 Hours after the Preload starts, there will be some "Cookies" flying around. So we, who will have the Game legally, have to wait while others are able to play.
No, I am not complaining. Just saying that this is a idiotic Decision left from the last Century. It does not make sense these Days - even for Physical Products. As DVD's / BluRay's are produced and distributed locally depending on the Region, by different Companies.
A little OffTopic Question:
Has some German or Main Europe Origin User Pre-Ordered DA:I already and can tell us when we can Preload the Game over here? It tells you this when you hover the Mouse over the DA:I Logo in your Games Section.
Would be nice to know as my 100MBit Connection will be under Maintenance until mid of December as my Provider works on the Network. Thanks in advance ![]()
And yes, I could find it out my self but I have not decided yet which Version I will buy. And EA Help has no Preload Dates and they even told me in Chat (20 Minutes ago), that we can not Upgrade from the Digital Standard to the Digital Deluxe Version. Not sure if the latter is true as EA Help is usually *PEEP*

Bioware/EA simply don't care enough to make it work because some business angle makes it easier to do it that way. How you respond to that is up to you.
Maybe one day, if an English developer has the resources and the talent to bring out something like DA:I we'll see some ******-for-tat. It's like the movies: the USA is the big daddy in the West, other than a few rare exceptions like Harry Potter or James Bond.

Just think how you'd feel if you lived in South East Asia and were included as Europe.

Now, I'm not no fancy academic geographer, but that there then seems like some mighty fine geographical accuracy.

OP makes a good point, it should probably be referred to differently, like that all of Europe will have it by the 21st, or that mainland Europe will have it on 20th.
I imagine it probably is due to the same reasons that someone suggested earlier (that people will turn into huge crybabies if they think they've been 'tricked' into believing the game comes out a day earlier). So Bioware's trying to cover themselves by stating the latest European date.
