Replaying ME1 now and I am remembering why I never liked that stupid tank. It was not very fast, for one thing, but what I had forgotten was how ridiculously sensitive it is to any slightly-uneven surface. Small bump in the road? Damn thing will go airborne and drift in mid-air (at least a drunk rhino would stay on the ground, it is actually worse). Stupid tank will then also literally try to climb up needles like Dragon's Teeth.

I am not opposed to a return of the Mako, just need to make some changes to its handling so that every little excursion does not drive me up the wall (of the literal and figurative varieties) as much as it does now.

Never had a problem with the Mako (or the hammerhead for that matter).  Looking forward to it having smoother controls.

Personally I hated the Mako. Not really a fan on the hammer head either. Would much rather have a Kodiak you could control and dodge AA fire where applicable.

According to Cortez, it flies like a brick, so you might end up hating that too. If we're going to go full on aerial it'd be better to just have a mantis gunship, because it's more maneuverable.

In a world of faster than light travel and slower than dirt elevators.....

Why the hell do people want to drive around in a car in a timeline where automated, driverless, taxi's can be summoned to a the 40th floor of  50 story building is the real question here.

More maneuverable sure, but you can't pack a team in there. The vehicle must be a troop transport.

I guess? If it doesn't handle like a drunk bear, and take hits from those thresher maws. Still better than the glass armor Hammerhead.

The Mantis gunship can carry several armed personnel. At the very least, it must be able to carry the three-person team that you would have in a game, which it can do just fine. According to the codex, it has a very modular design that allows it to be configured for a wide variety of roles.

The big problem is that the Mass Effect series has shown a terrible sense of scale for its vehicles. With the exception of the Kodiak, nothing else in the games ever looked big enough to hold even one person sitting upright.

Actually it's a matter of perspective, Hammerhead was damn huge, especially if you compare it to large Geth platforms (it's bigger than an Armature) but due to camera view it was looking kind of small.

It was rare that I ever got close enough to any geth in the Hammerhead to make any comparison, because their rapid fire didn't take much time to destroy the hovercraft so I always got them before I was within range of their attacks. But when actually having Shepard stand next to these things, they looked far too confining.

I really hope that the next game actually has more believable proportions for the vehicles. This little detail always irked me a bit.

In Star Wars they have Speeder Bikes. They are fast two seater vehicles that can traverse many types of environments at great speeds or slow crawls. In Star Wars Episode II the Jedi Anakin went many kilometers in a matter of seconds in a desert, in Episode VI Luke used one to chase a few Imperial scouts through a forest. Something to thing about, BioWare. Instead of recycling the Mako, maybe give use something else. Not that the Mako is bad or anything its just I am certain their are more type of vehicles to choose from in Mass Effect.

I'd totally go for a speeder of some sort.

I think it's great if they bring an exploration component back into the gameplay. Whether I am going to like the Mako or not I, can't tell yet, That will depend on the execution. I liked the Mako a lot in ME1, just hated some of the maps.

How do you remove HUD in ME1?

I often put the monument near the crew's sleeping pods - I figure it's an appropriate way to honor the rank-and-file soldiers who died in the Collector attack since, as far as I can tell, all the "big names" except Shepard and Pressly escaped alive.

I'm happy to see the Mako return, I just hope that the combat is better and that the terrains don't require "do-overs" to get where you're going. Hills, turns, bodies of water, and space animals are fine. "Here's a mountain that serves no purpose other than being in the way," not so much.

I'm pretty certain it's a given that the jagged mountain obstacle courses won't return.

Why would we want to fight with guns when we could eradicate everything with nuclear and mass effect stuff? Say goodbye to any gunplay, from now on its strictly politics and no action.

I realize you're joking but I wanted to make a point, also honest game trailers are cool.

I support the mako, its okay in ME1 as well. Its a damn powerhouse.

That picture is so beautiful, and really captures the sense of exploration that I got in ME1. I really could imagine this was another world (at least for the first couple, before finding how repetetive it all got).

They call it the "mako" to please fans. I'm all for it, but I know it won't be ME1 Mako and I'm skeptical about whether we even get to explore certain areas outside of the vehicle.

"Why would we want guns....nukes"

Yeah you're going to recapture a city from the enemy by nuking it and killing all your people. Planning on deploying Ebola to catch bank robbers too? :P :P :P :P

I would really hate to have designated exit zones like ME2's Hammerhead sessions.

I'd rather have Drew K. return... But I guess the mako is alright.
