support rebellion mages, elfs, "heretics"-barbarians and have dwarfs and grey wardens support, and become a enemy of Orlais and their Tempalrs...others as Nevarra, Tevinter, Ferelden and half of Free Marshes will unite with you very quickly

Orlais Empire with their Templars as demons, qunari and darkspawns have too much common enemies who is perfect friends and alliances for us

Orlais Empire have almost nothing for Inquisition compare to what we can have if we become a enemy of them

They're closer than Nevarra.

Where did you get the idea that I was going to insult them? I'm just not playing their toxic sport. I don't think participation is even mandatory for visitors.

Fair enough then *shrug*

Oh boy, what have I gotten myself into. Upfront I would like to say I only try to defend the point of view from a designers point of view (not necessarily Bioware's). Not really interested in having a discussion. I know as well that it would cost a lot of time and money if you would try to dress four different races. I'm not sure if you ever tried to design clothes in a 3D program for four different races?

First of all a sentence as "Dragon age is about the choices you (as the player) make." should be taken with a grain of salt. I mean there are always choices that you can't make. In this case apparently the choice to only have one sort of outfit apparently but also not the choice to be able to walk around in the night just as DA 2.

I'm not saying that a woman shouldn't be allowed to choose what kind of casual outfit she should wear. I would love it, if it were possible. My casual outfit in ME2 for my femshep is a dress. But you also might know what the purpose is the inquistor's visit of the ball, namely

Spoiler
I don't think catching a criminal in the act would be easy in a long dress, do you? : )

And my apologies for my "male attitude" comment. I have already edit it.

I agree with you that it is supposed to be an RPG, but it's the developer who decides what kind of RPG this is and where they want to focus specifically on. Bioware finds the story a much more important aspect. And different people have different opinions of what an RPG is. My standards are very low, I'm already happy with a setting as Dragon Age, the ability to choose my weapons and armor and the ability to interact with my companions. Some have higher standards, nothing wrong with it. What kind of game would you say is a real RPG?

I understand which direction you were trying to explain, no need to break out the crayons and paper. :)

Furthermore, I feel as though you took my comments over the edge and across the valley. Yes, there are quite a few things in game we cannot make choices on and/or change. However we are speaking of an outfit here, not changing the color of the mountains.

Most players want their character to be unique, to have their own identity. If you’re allowed to customize your character, wear whatever armor and weapons you choose; then there should be no reason why a home base uniform and/or a ball uniform cannot be customize to your tastes too.

Yes, it does take a bit more time, but no more time than a player building a MOD to change said outfit.

You are there for a mission objective but that should not be the end all be all of reasons why your female Inquisitor is not allowed to wear a dress. I for one am nowhere near the type of player who receives a mission objective, go straight to it, get it done and ignore everything in-between. I for one will be running around checking every nook and cranny. Then attempting to get drunk off Orlesian wine and having a conversation with the cheese tray.

Being that is your mission objective, wouldn’t the character stand out less, by blending in with the crowd instead of standing out in a Nutcracker uniform?

The chances of this being changed before release are zero and hoping for a DLC to allow the player to change the outfit are up in the air. I do know MOD folks will be working away to allow players to change it, I for one will have just have to deal with the outfit since I am on console.

Thus far, I have yet to hear a compelling reason why we cannot from either a developer or a player trying to see it from a developer’s point of view. All I see is more holes then a slice of Swiss cheese.

My inquisitor will be dancing with every single Orlesian who offers me the privilege, and rubbing eblows with every noble who doesn't!

I'll get to the mission at the last possible moment, because I want to enjoy the ball!

There is this one and now that we've seen the male Quizzy in the same outfit we can pretty much safely say this is the female Quizzy.

If this is the femquisitor, why is she leading the dance? Or is it opposite land in Orlais?

Edit: Wait, is the follower also female?

Not a fan of it. I was really hoping femquisitor would get a dress. -_- That's about half the reason I wanted a ball in game. xD Atleast this outfit isn't as clownish as the MotA outfit.

That thing was fugly.

So when are they releasing this Video? or was it just teaser screen shots of this in-game cut scene?

Am I the only one who doesn't want a dress, doesn't want to dance and doesn't give a flying f*** about what orlesian nobles want ? The Inquisitor has the fade mark thingy, nobody else can close the rifts (apparently, the Warden could close them in Awakening with some "enchantment" from Justice). If they don't want to help me just because they don't like my clothes they deserve to die, seriously, that's on them. You're the one saving the world, they're the ones who should kiss up to you, not the opposite.

I just want to wear my damn armor, it's actually harder to prevent me using it that allowing me

I thoroughly enjoy playing nobility games. If there was a game like the Landsmeet where all I did was customize my PC and deal with noble's squabbles, I would probably never play anything else ever again!~ (No, not the Sims, I want real words on my screen... and no stupid green head baubles)

I'm in it for the story choices and making a gorgeous PC, not the combat.

I wish we had the option of either fitting in and wearing finery and dresses or scandalizing everyone with blood covered armor rather than some derptastic third option of an ugly made up uniform.

Nah, though I don't personally care for that option.

DAO actually had it pretty right. You didn't have a home (unless you count your quarters in Denerim at the end) but there was the Landsmeet as a special event kinda like the ball. There were "clothes" as equipable gear so if you wanted a fancy outfit you could wear one of the colorful clothes, if you wanted a dress you could wear the dress clothes or mage robes and if you wanted armor you could just keep your combat attire on.

I don't even see how making a single special outfit makes sense. First of all, you're going to annoy (or ****** off depending on individuals) everyone who doesn't like it, which is most people since they seem incapable of making nice looking ones. Second, blocking use of normal gear and creating special attire is extra work, extra work that following point 1 above, has a negative impact

Yes, I wore Marjolaine's dress to the Landsmeet and I looked very pretty!

As one of our advisers, she's likely to show up given the circumstances. It sucks, but there isn't squat to be done about it. Try not to let it bother you too much, if you can. <hugs>

Morrigans an advisor?

I don't think it's too much to ask for. Do I think it should be a priority? Not really, but it would have been nice to add a couple of different options. Personally, I would have loved to see each race have a gown/suit representative of their race. Same with casual wear. We got what we got though and I am okay with that.

I see nothing wrong with wanting or asking ( I find demanding distasteful) for more hairstyles, dresses or casual wear, though. Just because something doesn't seem too important to me, doesn't change the fact that it is important for someone else.  I hope that you all get some more in the future. So, ask away!

Spoiler

ETA: After posting I realised you might have meant which ball rather than which ball gown if so we don't know much about Morrigan's role in DAI only that she's getting a fab gown and we aren't.

No yeah I was asking about the dress, come to think of it I should have known it was this since she's normally still wearing her very very old clothes from DAO. I just didn't it was very ball-like

The thing is that the third option both sets the Inquisitor apart and doesn't give the impression that they're about to kill everyone in the room. It's the perfect happy medium.

Kind of reminds me of a story I heard a long time ago about a man who went to the European king's evening party as an honored guest. His shoes were originally white (or some other color) as he left his home, but in the dark he mistakenly stumbled through an alley behind a butcher's store and incidentally dyed his shoes red in the process. And as he unwittingly strolled in; everyone else was wearing the exact same shoes except for him thus making him an overnight trend setter that had people mimicking him.

It'd be quite humorous if you stumbled into the Orlesian ball and started a new fashion just by attending (considering Vivienne's horns and Leliana's vivid description of Orlesian fashion from season to season).

It must be said, I don't think it is that great on men either. I am also thinking of doing a post on historical fashion of this general time period that Fereldan, Orlais, and the free marches are inspired by. Not sure if anyone would be interested in such a post :P

I'd love that!

I thoroughly enjoy playing nobility games. If there was a game like the Landsmeet where all I did was customize my PC and deal with noble's squabbles, I would probably never play anything else ever again!~ (No, not the Sims, I want real words on my screen... and no stupid green head baubles)

And I would play this game forever. The Landsmeet was one of my favorite moments in Origins. Actually, anything that settled important noble matters. Do I want to play the honorable Ned Stark, ending each action with as much justice as possible? Or play the shrewd Margaery Tyrell, and manipulate the situation into my favor? (I had to do some GoT references, because the politics in that series are by far the most interesting parts for me!)

Edit: And I wish they'd just go the DA:O route in this case. Sprinkle clothing throughout the game and let us equip that if we so choose. If I want to attend a ball in that noble's dress I bought earlier, or run out into the wild in nothing but said dress and a sword, then so be it.

I used to clothes items all throughout Origins. Eventually, if I knew clothing dropped from an enemy, I'd reload encounters in order to collect the outfits if it didn't drop the first time. My party and I spent our time at camp and in cities wearing clothing, and armor would be switched out while out in the wilderness.
