I was wondering if u can change ur class in m2 from the class u had in m1 such as going from a vangaurd to a sentinel?

Yep. Once you import your character you can change your class as well as how your character looks.

Bioware have been saying that for months - because the classes are so different for the first game, they felt it was only fair to give people the chance to change to what they might think is a cooler class now.
