I got a new "kitten" (he's 6 months old now) a few days ago, and am struggling with what to name him. He's all black with a smoky-colored underbelly, is very affectionate and playful (as kittens are wont to do). His siblings have a two-syllable thing going on (Curry, Seelie, Nala), but I'm okay with breaking it for the right name.

That is a cute kitty. I voted on your poll and chose Sindri, in my opinion, it just sounds like a great name for him. 

 

Edit: After a quick re-evaluation of my vote, I would say that Mao would be a great and better name for him.

Give him a name that both fits with his personality and is unique. I tend to name My pets after historical, mythological figures or  names from other-non Modern English. Try starting from there.

Like I have a cat named Heru-Ur, and had one named Chinggis Khagan, and another is named Vadenngarðr The Skull-Crusher. And have a dog named Þéoden(Though I had wanted to call him Æelþwulf)
