1960s-Star Trek
1970s-Battlestar Galactica
1980s to 1990s-Star Trek The Next Generation
2000s-Battlestar Galactica, Babylon 5, Firefly, Farscape, Stargate Universe
2010s-?

No one likes space adventures anymore? Why?

What are your ideas to make this genre appeal to this generation?

They've all been shifted to the big screen. More budget, quicker returns, less commitment needed.

Guardians of the Galaxy was a success. There are new Star Trek and Star Wars films coming, and Stargate is getting a reboot.

Well, the special effects make them very expensive to produce.

Honestly, most of the Sci-Fi out there in the visual media is all special effects-action-soap-opera-good-vs-evil type of stuff. If you want a vision of the future like Star Trek you have to go to books now, *cough* while "reading" is still a thing.

@OP: Please tell me your 'Stargate Universe' reference is to the universe and not the series?

Really?

Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't one of the most popular films of the year a Space adventure?

And isn't a very anticipated movie coming out for the winter film season another space adventure?

Shep, I get you're a robot. But I thought robots were smart and capable of logical thought.

If you just mean TV shows...Well, who cares about TV? TV is stupid. Film is where it's at anyway.

Guardians of the Galaxy is getting an animated series next year for what it's worth.

I tried. But Fox showed it out of order at stupid times then cancelled it.

All the best stories are being told on TV. TV is awesome now.

The expanse series is getting a television adaption isn't it?

John Carter of Mars was pretty awesome. I actually liked it better than Avengers, which was also kind of unfortunate... no sequel coming for that one, & I heard Disney lost the license.

the filmakers of the first film want to continue with their vision, now that the series are no longer being made. Gateworld.net probably will have the most info out.

There´s probably a handful of space opera animes around, but in western TV it doesn´t seem to be very popular right now.

No...they removed offline mode. You can still play solo online. Not that it matters to me since I wasn't one of the people that wanted/needed it, but I can get the people griping who did.

You're right, I said the wrong thing. But anyway no offline mode is a non-starter for a few like myself.
