No auto-attack probably.

No, actually, it'll probably be the automatic levelling on attributes. That will definitely take getting used to, and designing items to make up for not being able to assign attributes.

I'll have to get used to the health not restoring after a battle. I tend to get a little paranoid about my health bar, especially while playing as a mage. I will be playing on casual so I shouldn't have any problems.

8 ability limit, it would require some thinking ahead and defining in advance what do I'll need to use at say, lvl 20 and then strategizing, so I won't waste skill points on things I don't want.

Damn near everything that's been sacrificed at the altar of the crafting system.

No weapon switching in combat. They took it out in DA2, in that there was no hotkey; but you could still go into the inventory menu and switch daggers for a bow. That doesn't appear to be an option anymore.
On the bright side, it made it easier to decide between rogue and KE mage. ![]()

hopefully they get someone better to do it this time though. Male Hawke was especially cringe-worthy!

Probably the fact that there are some encounters that will just be too hard for me to deal with when I first encounter them, honestly. I like being thorough, and it'll be hard to walk away when I know there's more stuff in an area.

you could just mute your game when ever you click on your character to talk?

Probably the tactfulness that this game is built upon. Usually in RPGs I prefer to play on easy or normal and just slash and gun my way through because I know I'll be ok at the end. With this new system in place, I can't really do that. However, that is not to say I don't like this new system. I thoroughly love this idea because it's starting to bring back some life in to RPGs, the fact that you don't know if you'll survive this encounter even against enemies the same level as you is reason enough to appreciate what this game is doing; and that's called setting a benchmark.

Do we know if you can simple hold down the button?, like you can with the controller setup, cause that's not too bad.
I could have sworn they mentioned something like this... I feel as though I read something with a somewhat sarcastic tone that mentioned holding the button down and accomplishing the same thing as hitting multiple times.

In order of "getting used to the most//being unhappy with" to "eh, whatever I'll get used to it"
1) Lacking of healing spells/constant backtracking to camp/barrier and guard mitigation/improbable lore changes
2) 8 ability slot limitations/limited radical menu/no changing weapons during combat
3) Auto-attack not actually being an auto attack
4) Lack of personal stat allocation/relying on auto-level, passives, and crafting to build your character's stats.

There are several that I'll have to get used to, however I don't imagine any of them will take long.
Managing the party's health during battle, returning to camp after each tough fight, pausing more than ever during combat, using tactical camera (never had it before because I play on console), avoiding dungeons and enemies that outlevel me and remembering to come back to them later, learning the crafting system, and I'm sure there are many more things. All will take a little time to get used to but I'm sure I'll be an expert before I finish my first playthrough.
I'm not concerned by the no auto-attack outside tactical cam. I had auto-attack turned on in DA 2 and found myself tapping the 'A' button anyway, and I would mash the attack button in DA:O as well even though it didn't do anything but make my character repeat "very well", "I will do it", and "It will be done" a hundred times in a single battle. Maybe since I play on console, I'm more used mashing buttons repeatedly in order to attack.
Usually, with a large open world game like this, I feel overwhelmed by the amount of material and all the different things I have to learn. I need to make sure that I take my time in this game when a new feature presents itself so that I can understand how to take full advantage of it. Like when crafting is introduced for the first time during my first playthrough. I plan to stop what I'm doing and figure out exactly how it works before I move on to anything else.

No auto-attack.
No healing.
So much so, that I might not be "getting used to them" at all. No pre-order and no purchase at release. I'll be waiting quite some time to see how well the game liked overall after it's been out for a while. Core game mechanics may not ever change (unless they want to do something like DA:O v1.3 again), but I will be interested in other aspects, story and most importantly for me this time round QA. DA:I isn't cheap. I won't pay good money for poor quality output anymore.

Actually now that I think about it, the lack of heals probably won't be so bad for me. The AIs never actually behaved and followed their supposed tactics when it came to healing.
Actually giving a damn about crafting. (This one will probably be easy though, because there is a visual reward as well as a stat boost or whatever.)
Riding mounts (they are cool, but I tend to forget about them unless they are standing around for me to interact with and not immediately banished to hammerspace. I barely used my special pre-order horse when I was doing TESO)
Not playing as Hawke
No mods (at least not for a good while probably). I mean, the CC is def. robust, but further expansion on tattoo patterns, body tattoos, and body scars are all the type of things that mods would cover. There's just a lot of tweaks out there that the mod community can produce that the devs don't have the resources to allocate. On the other hand trying to find good mods often feels like wading through sewage. There are so many things I wish I could unsee...

Not being able to RP as a cute white mage elf girl.
Kidding aside, I am pretty disappointed that Heal spam has been replaced by Barrier spam. 'Damage mitigation' just doesn't have the same feel as actually undoing the damage dealt.

No healing options is the obvious one.
Actually using the crafting system and micromanaging combat will also take some getting used to. Both are touted as optional, but seem rather necessary.
This.
Also the slowly dying sad dragon deaths. I may just opt out of that entirely unless forced.

Yeah, the auto-attack thing. Or more likely being in tactical mode 100% of the time in battles.
I'll join the crowd.
