The Mass Effect novels were written by Drew, who was also lead writer when we got the f/f Liara romance.

He's no longer lead writer.

Are you sure?  During one of the live chat sessions they discussed him as though he was still the lead writer, as he had input in ME2.

Also, Liara is NOT f/f.  Devs had said so repeatedly.  No matter how female she looks, she ain't a girl."

Like I said before, it seems oddly convenient that she's not female. I'm not stupid enough to dispute the fact they intended the Asari to be nongendered, but the writers/developers would be fooling themselves if they thought that ANYONE could see Liara as equally female AND male. Case in point, they did it to satisfy the fantasies of young boys across the world. I just wish someone would admit it instead of hiding behind a defense of  "special correctness."

Yup cause no species that doesn't look human is worthy amirite ~.~ :?
But i guess this is to be expected, humans discriminate against different colored humans so of course it's going to happen with aliens

I hope the Garrus romance isn't too awkward. As of right now, he's the only Femshep romance I'm interested in (again, aside from Joker if by some miracle those who have the game just missed him as an option) but I don't want the "sexytime" scenes to ruin it.

Well they're the adorable kind of awkward, kind of like Alistair in DA:O.

Oh! Well that's fantastic, actually. Yes, the Alistair scenes were awkward, but they were sort of sweet in their awkwardness. I can accept that. Thank you! :wizard:

I admire BioWare for even going into the romance topic at all...
Romance sells to the public, but its a touchy subject... prior to registering I read up on some of the comments.
Many comments were easy to see coming from quite a ways before I read them, and BioWare wants to do what sells... but dang... what a headache reading through nearly 10 pages of 'user feedback'.
Naturally, if the public dislikes something enough it'll sell less... and sales is what keeps companies in business so they'll care when it comes to sales.
Storyline continuity is an important factor towards sales, but writers can always find loopholes.
I have to wonder whats waiting in Mass Effect 2. :)

Completely agreed, even with myself being a big BIG supporter of m/m along with a couple of my friends. They'll do what they want mixed with what they think they should do, like any company, except with more awesome.

I've pretty much decided that if there is no m/m, I'll be friends with Jacob and just bring him along every so often, but mostly bring along Legion. If there is m/m, then Jacob all the way :)

Oh, and the Garrus romance is strange, but cute. Tali's is cuter, but Garrus' is funnier :P

Garrus' romance is interesting because its clearly not based on anything resembling physical attraction.

Hmm, the aliens are a little too alien for my liking but whatever floats your boat.

Looks like my FemSheps will be staying faithful as none of those options appeal to me except for maybe Jacob. One of my FemSheps didn't have a romance in ME 1 so she'll be carrying that through to ME 3 to see if anything else pops up.

The ManSheps have a much better set of options in my opinion and I'll probably get my Renegade Shep to cheat and romance SuZe, my single ManShep to romance Miranda and my last ManShep to stay faithful to Liara.

Alright, I was so curious about the romance option for Garrus that I decided to spoil myself to find out the details.

Check out Garrus's profile on Mass Effect wiki to find out the details of his romance.

huh... I kinda thought Garrus would have a stronger character and not quite as nervous during any sort of romance...
I wonder if all that talk about taking down Saren was just talk?  :D lol, naw! just kidding, romance can be a bit unnerving depending on the person or alien

Well, that's not necessarily true.  Interspecies attraction definitely exists to some extent, as demonstrated by the Asari Consort and her Acolytes.  It's also stated that young males of other species are attracted to the Asari in the lore.

Taking that humans bear an extremely close physiological resemblance to the Asari, I wouldn't put it past Turians and others to have some sort of physical attraction for humans.

I can, however, see why Garrus might be unwilling to pursue a physical, sexual relationship with a human Shepard.  Obviously, there are physiological differences between the two races that might make a real sexual encounter difficult - to say the least.

It's not like they are forcing you to 'indulge' yourselves in a romance with any of the alien options, you can stay as far away from romancing as you want, calm down.

It's their for people who want it. Don't tell people to get rid of things because you don't like them.

Legion is sentient too. And it is the most obvious romance option for the Zombie Cyborg Shepard.

Besides, getting it on with Legion is no stranger than using a vib... erm, a dil... erm a toy of adult persuasion. It's just that this toy can talk and walk.

I wonder if they'll add a romance option with the fish? If it's good enough for Troy McClure it's good enough for me. You may remember Troy from shows such as...

I don't think in reality, I could get myself to do it with an alien. First of all, I think it would hurt more to be with a Turian than be pleasurable. Although, I think the key difference is the level of understanding and who can consent. Animals more act "horny" toward a human (cue humping dog) but can't technically consent nor have the understanding capacity that sapient beings have. Either way, it is kind of weird.
