Strictly talking longer length options, these are the only ones I see as ''long''. Others are medium to short length.

You're telling me these are designed for males?

I can maybe concede you the last one. But the others?

unless you intend to have your Inquisitor in drag, those are definetely not suited for straight males.

That you do not like them I can agree with however.

Doesn't change that men can have that hair too.  Most of them look a little better on the male characters as well, actually.

By the way, assigning sexuality to a hair style is incredibly silly.

This guy is straight as an arrow, and he was the king of weird hair in the 80s:

Oh, and if you didn't know, there will be makeup options in the CC for male characters as well.  There's an Adam's Appler slider for both sexes too.   :P

Um, no it's not silly.  At all.  We're going to have to disagree there.

I dunno. The second one from the right looks pretty early-90s John Stamos-y to me.

The only one of these four i see being designed more for women is the third one.  The others are very 'unisex' in appearance.  They may not be your style, but I've seen men with these hairstyles.  My brother wore varients of the first and second ones for most of his life, till he started losing his hair altogether.  Now it more resembles the fourth one.

Okay, suit yourself.   Just giving you a fair and honest warning there.  You might want to let go of that preconception, is all I'm saying.

definitely not big enough hair for drag and metro-sexuality never hurt anyone.

Hair has no gender specification.

My hair being so long, it was suggested once on this very forum that I braid my hair like Elsa's from Frozen.

I said I wouldn't do it.

Did it like 45 minutes later.

Rocked the *expletive* out of it.

Then I started getting Khal Drogo comparisons.

Let it be known, you can rock whatever hair style you want. :)

Warning?  What's that supposed to mean?  Is that some sort of threat?

Sorry but would you take a guy seriously if he had pig tails?  Give me a break.

Yeah, cause that dude would have to have some serious metaphorical balls to go out like that knowing he might run into people who'd judge him for it. /respect

Exactly.  You'd do it to show how ballsy you are.  You wouldn't do it expecting to be part of societal norms.  So, in other words....both of you are full of it.

Not it is not silly when you are making a AAA rpg title with ''endless customization options''.

Regardless you didn't get the point of my post. I don't mind these being available for males as well.

But I do mind not having any options designed for straight males.

Having Blackwall's hair as an option or similar, for example would've been perfect.

Yes, actually I would.   I've met a fair amount of straight guys that also liked to wear broom skirts in public too, because they were comfortable. Fashion, particularly with hair, is so ridiculous that I stopped assuming things like that years ago.

The warning isn't a threat, it's more advice.  I'm trying to give you some life lessons there.  Assuming sexuality based on clothing or hair style is not a good idea, simply because fashion is weird and folks dress however they want.

"Societal norms".

Wat

You know DA doesn't share the same society that we do in the real world, right? A dude can go outside in pigtails right now and I guarantee it wouldn't be as big a deal as your implying;it wouldn't matter at all in Thedas if thats how Thedas operates.

Hell last game I completed was Sunset Overdrive;in that game, both genders could wear whatever hairstyle, clothing, makeup, etc etc they wanted. And that game, ridiculous and over the top as it was, is an extension off of what we have in the real world.

If Sunset can do it, DA can, even without going over the top.

broom skirts?  Yeah, that's called being in drag.  Which is perfectly fine.  That's their prerogative.  But if I want to look like straight male with conventional hair who doesn't want to look like Skrillex after he just got done with a 3 hour rave....I should have the option.

Assuming you're in a position to give someone else 'life lessons' because they disagree with you is not a good idea, simply because they've lived a whole different life than you, and may have very good, valid reasons to disagree. Opinions are weird, and folks can have whichever ones they want.

Please let's not bring gender into this thread.  The main idea here (I think) is that there is not enough differentiation of style.

No.  He's saying that straight males wouldn't normally have those kind of hair styles.  And if they did have longer hair, they certainly wouldn't be stylized like that.  They would either just be straight up pony tails or just be swept back or something.

Judging someone's sexuality based solely on appearance is always a good idea.  That will surely get you far in life.

But hey, you're right.  If someone wants to be that judgmental over appearance, that's their call to live with such a narrow-minded view.  I'll drop the subject.

Everyone have their own opinion about the hairstyles and that's fine.

Good for you if you like DAI hairstyles, short, bald, shaved, whatever, i'm truly happy for you.

But I am playing a fem character and i personally dislike all of them. ALL. i didn't like a single hairstyle shown, none whatsoever, and most just seem like copy-paste with minimal changes. i mean, 13 bald-ish hairstyles? really? And i'm not even talking about long hair,i gave up on that a long time ago, but there could be more beautiful options on short and mid hair.

And I, unlike many, don't belive there is more to it, or that there will be a hair dlc of some sort, so that sucks big time, i am, at this point, just trying to find a hair i'll be able to "get by". I know, it's just a game, but the biggest point of having this kind of freedom in a character creation is to actually create a character YOU like, both looks and personality, and yes, it makes me sad and a bit upset not being able to play with a character i truly like. :(

I am oficially praying to the Maker for a nice beautiful hood, is my only salvation now.

Skyrim was 2011, and I was able to give my male character long hair(if you want to call it that). In the base game.

Inquisition is 2014. By the looks of it, long hair is still out of the question, not just for males but everyone.

I'm here in the real world with my long hair going, "C'mon man, AGAIN?"

That's jumping from one topic to another.   We're talking about conventional hairstyles here.  I never judged anyone SOLELY based on their appearance.  If I saw a man in a broom skirt I wouldn't judge them based on that fact alone.  But let's be realistic here.  There will always be some sort of judgement based on appearance at some level.  Why do you think it's wise to dress up for an interview and look nice?  OH I know....so that the employer doesn't think you're a lazy slob!  Does this make the interviewer a judgemental dbag?  No.  It simply makes him an honest human being.

Sadly, that's pretty much all of them.  There is a pic floating around in the thread of the male options, but it's about the same.
