Havent seen these hairstyles before
Well that looks better than the some of the hair in the previous screenshots.
I really didn't want to answer your questions because like I said none of them have any bearing on dai's horrible hair. There's nothing to prove wrong. They're irrelevant. And even if Frostbite only ever made buzzcuts, DAI's buzzcuts look far worse. But if you wanna know so badly fine:
She has one outfit change:
It's probably a complete character swap. irrelevant
As a deuteragonist or triteragonist She's "animated" throughout the game, including cutscenes.
Hair is completely static in DAI/Animations have nothing to do with how bad a hair looks in a still screenshot. irrelevant
Again the state of the hat has nothing to do with DAI's hair at all.
It's a 3d model, glue doesn't exist. Did they render her hair under the 3d model? I dunno probably not, why would they? It's a fps it's completely pointless. Unless her hat comes off at some point. Does her point come off? I dunno. Possibly, it wasn't that memorable. Plus, it's irrelevant. But sh!t look at that above! BF4 can render hair without hats! Amazing!
Well that's a very interesting rant...
Although I have to agree, Frostbite can show hair without a helmet on, but it's still (almost) as short as some of the previous DAI hair screenshots so that's not really saying much.

That has nothing to do with anything. I was being sarcastic.TMP save me! Did you even watch the Need For Speed video?
AND ANYWAY IT'S ALL IRRELEVANT.
making hair not look like crap has NOTHING to do with the engine. Those screenshots of Hannah aren't even IN battlefield 4. It's the model and textures FOR battlefield, rendered in an external program or viewer. Tech only comes into play when you want hair like this:

My point being that the hair in BF4 is relatively short as can be seen in the game.
The only time it's not short is when she has it in a ponytail, which is the majority of the game.
It also happened to clip awkwardly with her scarf at times during the missions, and the textures for it do not match the models.
As for Lara Croft's hair, I'm sure BioWare can re-engineer the engine from Tomb Raider to make sure that hair looks great on characters that can not have different hair styles.

I never asked for long hair. Once again the only reason
It's a retort to "Frosbite is unable to render anything but buzzcuts!" But really, that's such a nonsense statement I felt stupid just looking up examples.
And actually I think DAI even itself has an example of nice hair: Cullen. I really do like his.

You could do without the strikethrough. ![]()
You're correct that the "only buzzcuts" statement was unfounded.
I was simply showing the difference between a consistent and a variable asset, particularly the character's faces and hair.
You don't have control over her outfits do you? Every scene has the character in a specific form so the model is unique per animation.
How many cutscenes is she involved in?
How many other female characters exist?
You cannot compare this character to the DAI PC. A fairer comparison can supposedly be between other static characters in the game, such as Empress Celene or Female Assassin #23.
In this case I suppose the only logical reason, beyond their own creativity, is that they did not feel it was significant enough of an investment when the PC cannot have access to it.

whatever happened to those sweet hairstyles in the previous race presets? You know, those sweet braided ones?
They gave them to the NPCs. (Josephine, for one.)

I seem to remember her wearing that hat all the time tooBut does that woman change outfits very often?
Does she get animated in more than a couple of cutscenes?
Answer is probably no.
I bet her hat is glued to her skull and she has no top-hair.
Edit: nvm lol

Josephine doesn't have one of the those

No, but her hair is braided and similar. Cassandra also has a braided style.
But that the inquisitor gets a choice of one braided style after showing us those others, but the NPCs still get them, is what I was trying to point out.

1)Why do the short hairstyles also look like crap?
2)Why are there random shaved patches?
3)Why are the straight across bangs an extremely unfashionable length when other hairstyles have longer side bangs or hair pieces?
4)Why is there a Jersey Shore haircut?
5)Why is there a mullet?
6)Why did they bother to include 20 buzzcut options rather than just leaving it at two or three? (not even replacing the extra with real hair, just not having the pointless repetition)
The answer to these questions? Not Frostbite.

Wigs... Orlesians either wear the masks and hats on their heads, or they wear wigs. Still, more options for the Inquisitor in hair-styles would have been nice. I mean there are various styles of short and near bald hairstyles. What happened to the various shoulder-length hair-styles from DA2 and DA1.
maybe a braid or something would be nice, maybe a long ponytail, cause this just sucks, for all races

I'd rather have 5 hair choices that look something like this:

Than +30 horrible looking ones.
But then again, long hair needs to be simulated to look good so women (and those 3 guys who like long hair) will always be screwed.

This is still going on? People who think frostbite cannot render or doesn't allow long hair, you're stupid. You don't know what you are talking about and obviously have never worked with an engine in your life. STOP. You look dumber by the second. Bioware just sucks at making hair, they need to hire me. I'll make them some hair that's decent.

Answer is probably no.
The answer is yes.
She's one of the three main characters, goes almost everywhere with your squad and you see her in several civilian and military outfits with free hair, a long ponytail and some kind of upsweep.

I know what happened. Bioware spend so much money on different aspects of the game, that they was left with about 1,20 $ for hairstyles.

Man, before the game I was worried about hair length but after launch I reeeeaaallly noticed the short hair syndrome across Thedas.
Doesn't affect my opinion of the game(I think its awesome), but the lack of long hair was something I noticed, and as someone with long hair, I'm still bummed.
