So, generically speaking, can we all agree that, overall, this is the WORST hair selection of any Bioware game??? IMO this selection is craptastic!! If I did my job in this fashion I would be replaced....just sayin'.

The problem is that the hair and especially the beards are not of the same quality as the faces and this is what makes them so very off.

But they are certainly not the worst hair selection. Just look at Shepard.

You have to wonder how the hair in ME2 was an improvement on the ME1 hair but then the third game took a nose dive and the hair was worse than the original. Why not keep and import the hair from ME2?

OP, the beards look worse. They look like plastic!

Sorry, disagree that this has to do with the engine....they clearly had unisex hair fashion.....and most were not that good to begin with. They were just bad...the beards especially. What was with that half shaved look? Really?

What I don't get is why go for so much balding, not all men lose so much hair at their hairline.

*preemtive flame shield activation*

Maybe we should just go back to the KOTOR/Jade Empire style of having preset appearances?

That wasn't so bad. At least it didn't take long to make a character :P

Same goes for Skyrim. Lousy character appearances. Took forever getting something right. I had a happier time with the low poly models of Morrowind. They had a charming design at least.. crappy as they were.

There is a large LBGT following to these games, i guess they like that.. I can't understand why though.. pretty hideous all round.

That is true, but I have no problem playing without a beard. Playing without hair, though.....no, I won't go there. Especially not on my usually female Inquisitors.

You realize that if developers start putting out patches to fix some shortcomings in their products, it's quickly going to create an expectation that all shortcomings should be fixed by patch? (And that if a developer hasn't fixed a problem, they must just be lazy or stupid.)

In addition, it would give developers leeway to basically release their products as a beta because players are reassured that patches will fix problems, instead of having incentive to get it right the first time.

I seriously doubt this will be addressed. It's probably time to move on.

I don't expect additional content to fix this problem, and since I have two hairstyles that work for me I can live with it, but it's good to keep talking about it. We don't want this to happen again, do we?

I think your expectations are a little high, particularly if BioWare has any intention to integrate animations into hair.

41 pages on hairstyles. Feast on this, QA analysts!

Seriously, I don't know what you guys are on about with lack of variety.

Me and my entire platoon absolutely love it; we finally get to be individuals. Ohh-rah!

The lack of variety is evident if you look at the fact that BOTH genders use exactly the same pool of hairstyles.

This might come as a shock, but there are a lot of people who want stereotypical "male" and "female" hairstyles. If you want hairstyles to be "gender neutral" so as to not offend the "delicate sensibilities" of the "politically correct crowd" then it is only fair for the non gender neutral hairstyles to be designed and included as well.

Surely is the worst in a Dragon Age game. Only Mass Effect is still worse...

I prefer the selection in DAO and DA2, in DAI I only found a minimum of 5 hairstyles that suit my tastes.

I fail to see why Braids are not considered or accessorized in the present hairstyles selections.

The lack of buns and tail makes it worse, and let's not forget that there's no hairscalp, seriosly Harding's hairstyle could have been badass if it had a proper hair scalp and sideburns. :(

There's a really amazing solution to this! Don't publish broken games.

edit: and beta testing gameplay using real fans would help ;)

I for one am very disappointed in the hairstyles in DAI.  I prefer the hairstyles of previous DA. Thus I assumed the developers’ would take the previous hairstyles and extend them for DAI. Instead they wiped the slate clean and gave us a choice between, ugly, butt ugly, or dear sweet Maker!

I prefer shoulder length hairstyles. However even though we are given a few of those, they are not very good at all. There is only one hairstyle I find tolerable: the shoulder length hair option with bangs swept to the right side.

I feel as though the developers spent so much time creating an open world, that at the last second they realized, “Oh sh!t! We forgot to put some hairstyles in.”

I do not mind some hairstyles being unisex. However a good portion of those hairstyles should be for race and sex only. I saw an NPC male wearing Celene’s hairstyle and another male NPC wearing the tied-up bun-it was pretty bad.

The hairstyles are no-where near being categorized as “fantasy style.” If this was the 1980s and a G.I. Jane game, yes Bioware would be on target. But this is not.

I play DAI on PC now for two reasons. One, to use a MOD to change the ghastly PJ outfit in Skyhold. Two so I can await a Modder to implement some nice hairstyles.

So enclosing I’d like to thank you Bioware for giving DAI the worse hairstyles of ANY game I have played. There is nothing like seeing a choice of hairstyles that look as though you got drunk at a party, passed out and your friend(s) decided to give you a “haircut.”

1980s lawn mower hair is NOT fantasy. What the hell happened to the concept art hairstyles? Now those I would love to have.
