Is it me or does it look like someone farted and the elf inquisitor just smelled it?
Thank you, friend. I really needed that fart joke today XD (Also, the answer seems to be yes)

To have decent looking hands, good long hair styles had to be sacrificed to the Elder One.
I think I could live with that if its true.
A lot of those "short overly cropped" hairstyles that people are complaining about are actually afro-textured hairstyles, I don't want them gone so they can be replaced by another long hairstyle. Racial variety in Thedas is a good thing, and I couldn't be happier that both NPCs and the Inquisitor can be black.
My main problem is not "no long hair", but not good short hair
This. I don't mind short hair. In previous games all my ladies had short hair (not that I had much choice in the matter anyway) so maybe that's why this time around I wanted something different. I don't want my Inquisitor to be bald (or nearly bald), and I don't want another short hair like Hawke's so that leaves just a few choices. They could add short/medium hair that still looked good on females. And they could most definitely make some decent updos that wouldn't cause clipping such as:

What bothers me is the lack of personality the hairs in Inquisition seem to have and the lack of braided hairstyles. It's such a typical medieval thing to have braids, it just annoys me that we only have one and it's being used by Scout Harding.
They actually had some pretty good hairstyles planned but for some reason gave up on them. I can understand why the long braid could be a problem, but not the other 3.

ugh Bethany hands... ![]()
Yeah, its possible sure, but that doesn't mean that Bioware had the engine or the resources to do it. The team at Edmonton without a doubt tried their best with what they had but had to make some cuts to parts of the game.
They don't have an unlimited staff or budget after all.
Which is why I'm perfectly willing to accept what they're giving us. I would like to see at least a gradual improvement next time. We know that they know fans consider it an important issue however, this is pretty much the same stuff we've been dealing with for years.
I'm fine with the styles. It's the textures I'm concerned about. It's hard to tell from the pics about the textures. It may be all my Inquisitors will be dark haired if there's no other way to cover up the straw/plastic hair look.
Oh well, it's not like Thedas is overwhelmed with hair products anyway... ![]()
I get the OP's concern, some of the hairstyles do look ugly but why are people moaning over some women having short hair in the game? It's not like the long hair-styles of the past games were any good. Jesus, people act as if Bioware has some sort of agenda against long haired women. You've got shoulder length hair, that's good enough.
While I can't deny I would like longer hair options, especially for my femquisitors, whenever I feel like it's starting to bother me too much, I just bring up the Bound By Flame CC...
The styles are definitely different than what we are used to in DA games and I don't care for several of them. However, I will respect Bioware's design decision on this and the direction they were aiming for. At least some of the shoulder length and bun/poinytail styles are okay. Perhaps, they wanted a more defined, strong appearance for the inquisitor regardless of gender. I mean fighting with long hair slinging in your face doesn't really seem practical.
They look bad for the most part. At least a generation behind the rest of the graphics but it could be worse, at least you're not a Qunari with either the George Washington, the tootsie rolls glued to the scalp, the small "Mohawk" that looks carved from a brick of cheese, or bald.

You guys realize that not all hairstyles were shown right?
Even the traditional Alistair hair gel cut wasn't shown and we know it exists because of the one trailer with Hawke.
I'll probably be going with that one. It's my favorite hairstyle. (hawke avatar)

I agree about the braids. Expecially the one the human female have is very cute, and doesn't seem so different in masses and style from the one Harding have.
I simply like more short hair, and since I have played mostly on PS3, I didn't have the chance in DAO to have short hair I liked (see Cassandra's hair in DA2, and default female Hawke. and this one was only awailable to the default face, so I couldn't use it because I want to make the face of my character as I like, I hate default) and all the other short hair didin't let me see the elven ears of my Warden.
I was hoping at least for same bangs, but I see only one would be pixie cut for DAI, as is quite...anime/plastic looking. :/

Just because a NPC has a certain hairstyle, it doesn't mean we'll be able to use it on our Inquisitor. I would love to have Josie's hair but I highly doubt it will be an option. In all the videos of CC they showed almost every single hairstyle because you can see the slider as they choose them. (There was maybe one of two that they didn't show because I believe the slider didn't go completely to the end.) And since all hairstyles are available for both man and female I would say that yes, we've seen pretty much all hairstyles. Unless they decided to add a few more in the meantime and we'll have a nice surprise at launch, but I doubt it. If they aren't going to do that for the Qunari (after so many people complaining) I don't think they will do it for the other races. The only hope we can have is for a DLC now.

Dorian's hairstyle is right there in that "collection" image a few pages back.
Just rewatched the character creation demo and there are about 8 missing hairstyles (5 from right, 3 from left).
Safe to assume the traditional Alistair cut is still there.

Character customization is at the heart of what I love about these games. I would gladly wait two weeks for more hairs ;D
I REALLY wish they would release a black emproium equivalent with launch. it erks me that they make us wait for the option to adjust our character.
also, it'd be nice to have the original styles if only to be more faithful to our Hawke when we recreate them

Think of it as an opportunity to implement a "CC improvement DLC (or FreeLC)" that combines a character re-creator and more hairstyle options!
I'd love gloriously long white hair for female Qunari like in that tarot card but whatever ![]()
i would go for that!

Ture, after all Hawke didn't have access to those marvelous hairdos.

Actually there's only one missing from the left. And considering the two hairstyles before the last one are all small afros I would assume the last one is similar.

On the right side there are some missing, but I don't think it's more than five in total.
