Hello,

I'm making a module for some friends (and I may upload it to the vault if it's any good), but I am handicapped by never playing NWN2 over a network. Can anyone answer a few questions for me?

1) if the players are in the same party and one player talks to an npc, do all the others see the dialogue?

2) what happens if the players are in two different areas and part of the group kills a monster? Does the whole party get xp?

3) If a player has died (at -10), can they be raised via healing kit or cure spell or are they dead-dead?

Thanks in advance for the help!

Matt

1) The others see it as a floating text. Only the one who's doing the talking will see the cutscene and be able to pick dialogue options.

2) No. That said, the modules I've played on multiplayer (not persistent worlds) would port the whole party if one of the characters used a transition point.

3) Dead-dead, but there are different death systems you can use if you don't like that one.

Thanks! I guess I'll add the standard D&D bleeding rules to my module. I've avoided cutscenes because I have a couple quests that you get per character for reading some lore, but I didn't want each player to have to sit there every time.

Actually, windowed dialogue allows other characters to choose dialogue options. It may be a good idea to point someone out to do the talking, anyway. Otherwise, it can be a mess with everyone stepping onto each other.

Hmm, maybe I'll just turn the lore quests into regular party quests then, I was hoping to only reward players who read the lore but it's not a huge deal.
