Can someone help me with this? because i;ve been all over the forum and there seems to be no solution to this error.

Specs:

GTS 250 Nvidia Graphics card
4 gigs ram DDR2
3.06 duo core intel cpu

I have got the exact same problem, when i try running ME1, it just tells me that the "Mass Effect Configuration Utility has stopped working".



I have win7, i have run it in compatibility mode with Windows XP (SP2), still same problem.

4GB ram

Nvidia Geforce GT 220

2.8GHz i7 ffs, so why doesnt it work?



I had a different problem on my last computer, where it couldn't find some shader, but it was probably below the specs, so this one is above but it still doesn't work on it?

I read on the support page to change the properties to run in administrator mode but it did not fix my problem...

I'm having the same problem and I found this site to be very helpful. Specifically the second solution where you go directly into the .exe and load from there. It bypassed the config utility for me and I was able to get in with no further problems.

i installed the bring down the sky mod or whatever, and patch 1.01 comes with that, and that solved my problem with the utility thing. However, after talking to the spectre right at the start, my game crashed...hopefully this is just a temporary problem
