Viv and Cullen, I'm sort of warming up to Dorian but he's still a question mark. I have a feeling Varric will too much dudebro for me to handle but I'm hoping the writers actually write him as his own person instead "The guy who is supposed to be your bff"

I honestly like all them a lot right now. My favorites so far are Cullen, Solas, Cole, Dorian, Cass, and Sera. If I have to pick just one though I would go with Cullen.

Varric is majorly overrated I think. Personally I would rather have not seen him in DA:I or at least not as a companion. I can think of a dozen companions who I liked way more. Nathaniel Howe, Oghren, Sten, Loghain, Leliana, Morrigan, Isabela, Bethany, Ariane, Finn, Shale, even the Dog.
I just dont like him. At all. Not meaning to start an argument, and I wont participate in one. Just my two cents.
Anyway, Im thinking Blackwall or Leliana.

While im on the subject of overrated characters. Alistair is another I never understood liking. I guess the witty, trying to be funny guy I never go for. Anders is the exception. But then he turned into rebellion starting Anders and I hated him too. But I guess I didnt start hating him until witty Anders left and whiny Anders debuted so I dont hate ALL witty characters. Just the ones who arent funny/arent personable

That's a tough one. Dorian, Josephine, Cassandra, Iron Bull, Cole, Sera, Vivienne, Blackwall, and Varric have all caught my attention at this point.

 

Which means that only leaves Solas to have not made an impression on me yet, and Leliana and Cullen who I do not care for from the previous installments, but I open to giving them another chance to change my mind.

 

But if I have to pick only one, I think I'm most partial to Dorian.

I never found Alistair to actually be that funny, but he was the definition of personable to me. He's just such a sweetheart, but I've got a thing for nice boys, so that makes sense for me.

@Wardensoul, I agree. I could have lived with  Varric just being in DA2. I would have liked having Isabela or Fenris back. Perhaps Loghain or even Oghren.

You know what? I'd have genuinely liked to get Aveline back instead of Varric. I love the guy to death but Aveline just screams "Protector" to me. She could replace Blackwall!

I am looking forward to getting to know blackwall, i thought iron bull would be my warrior damage dealer in the party, but seriously freddie prinze jr gotta step up his game for that.. man i felt nothing for his james vega..

It will probably end up being either Dorian or Cole.

 

Reasons:

 

Dorian - I usually like gay males (they are usually the funniest ones) in works of fiction, be them more realistic or extremely exaggerated and stereotypical. Dorian seems like he's going to be a mix, though I'm sure he leans more towards the realistic side of the spectrum given the fiction he is in. (Dorian also being the Necromancer makes me like him 10x more, because Necromancers/Summoners are my favorite fantasy class).

 

Cole - I like the mystery surrounding Cole, and, his weird, somewhat spooky, quirky(ish) personality. I also like his appearance quite a bit, especially his 'witch hunter' garb.
