A Late Suggestion For A Possible LI

I don't know about many of you, but after seeing the latest gameplay stream for Extra Life, there was a character that I noticed that got a little flirty with the dwarf inquisitor.

I am sure many of you are aware it was Harding, the scouting leader.

While the conversation was ending, it felt like she was trying to hit on the Dwarven Inquisitor, which made me really think about her as a possible LI. I mean, we ended up getting Cullen on board the LI train along with Blackwall. Also, since there has been a complete lack of strong, central Dwarven women in this series, I really think she would make an awesome LI for dwarf only players. Since I mean, she is about the same height as the DI, and not a few feet taller like the rest of the romances if you play a dwarf, which also plays a factor in me mentioning this. I always found that aspect of romances extremely awkward too if you played a dwarf and wanted to romance someone, only to see taller people to choose from.

Any thoughts?

I do remember someone saying that there was a character you could flirt with, but not romance ;)

I would LOVE for Scout Harding to be an LI!! With the lack of dwarven romances in the series, she'd be a great "first." Since we've already gotten our main romance options announced, I hope she is the character that we can flirt with. It probably wouldn't be a full-blown romance, but sorta like Tallis's in MoTA.

Its too late. They added two Li when the development cycle was extended by a year. They have also stated they won't make a DLC just to add romances and they wont make romance just because players want it.

The romances in DA:I are inclusive beyond that too much of this boils down to I subjectively want X please give me x. That sounds reasonable but with romances what people find attractive, what they desire in a partner covers sooooo many different mutually exclusive things, it just imposible for bioware to make everyone happy. How do they deside which player feed back they should include? You can't simply go my majority because heterosexuals will always have a numbers advantage. So which people get their subjective likes catered to? Which players find their subjective likes get ignored?

The only fair way to handle romances is to let Bioware do their thing without the influence of the masses. By all means give them feedback of the quality of the characters but just accept what you get in this area.

I am not saying this because I have been lucky and I got what I wanted so screw you. In DA:O I was lucky and i liked both women and romanced them both in various playthroughs. In DA2 I loved both Merrill and Isabella as companions but I did not Romance either of them because they did not in anyway tickle my fancy so i had a Romance drought. I don't know if any of the three female romance options will be to my liking as i haven't played so I have to wait and see. So this isn't a case of Ha Ha! while pointing at you. It a case of its impossible to meet all the conflicting desires people have in this area and if no one person's desire is more important why don't we just let bioware do the stories they want with regards to writing romance because no matter whatthey do someone will be left in the cold.

I don't really mind if they add her in or not as a full blown LI, I was just simply suggesting, you know, as a thought. I am in now way saying,

"Bioware, add Harding as an LI or I will hunt down your families and hold them hostage until we as members of the community get what we want."

I completely understand that they have their own way of handling romances and I understand the amount of work to be put into them. This was in no way a thread to, as I said before, force Bioware to lick our feet while the art and code monkeys that work there do what we tell them to do, I am just giving a small note of possible feedback. I don't expect them to make her a full blow interest within this short time period, since I am sure all of the romance stuff that interacts with the story has been cleared and done by now. I myself do not play a dwarven character, but if someone like Harding was added to the mix as a possible LI, or even as a possible flirt as it may have been hinted, I may as well go that route since it seems interesting to me. Though, with the game close to release, as you said, it may never happen, but I am still fine.

Honestly I would love to have a dwarf male/female option for a dwarf player. I love the way the dwarfs look but I can agree that the romance screens just look so strange when the other person is over 2 feet taller than the dwarf. I would play a dwarf more often if they actually gave the dwarfs in this game a little more love than they do right now.

Too late in the dev cycle and they've said no DLC romances. Maybe you'll get lucky next game or if they release an expansion

I don't know anything about Harding, but a flirt option is better than nothing. I do believe that all 8 romance options will suit most if not all specific types of players. It is unfortunate that not everyone got what they wanted, but hey that's how life works.

I originally wanted Vivienne as an LI, but now I'm ecstatic for Cassandra and Dorian.

Sorry to tell you, but that ship has sailed :(

It'll be okay though! :P :P :P :D :D

It is far too late now.

If there is an area where you think DA:I is lacking (romance or otherwise), you're best bet would be to make suggestions for the next DA game. With less than a month to go before release there aren't going to be major changes or additions.

Yeah, Harding was totally hitting on that Inquisitor. She knows where its at!

And come on people, you all know Varric loves Bianca too much to cheat on her!

However, how great would it have been to have Sigrun return as a character and be a dwarf LI? eh eh?

It's a bit too late for this. The game launches in a few weeks, and will probably go gold within the next week. Unless they patch in Harding as a romance via dlc, it's not going to happen

You realize that Iron Bull is like 2 feet taller than the elves of DA:I, but that won't stop him from being a romance option. Size clearly isn't the issue.
