So anyone else want him to return? Any other fans? I know the haters will stop on bye (they always do) & you're more than welcome. The Masked Empire showed us the good and bad side of all the major characters in the novel. He did barter with a demon & killed some innocent dalish elfs. Regardless of his decisions I loved him & hope to see more of his adventures.
Also he is a half elf peasant that rose up the ranks. I just love characters that do that.

Michel was my favorite character TME & I personally will go crazy if he makes an appearance. Ishmael is running around free so I'm sure that the Inquisition will help him take the demon out or possibly be given a 'choice' with different consequences. He was also Celene's former champion & for some reason I thought he would be the one to teach us the champion specialization but I'm not so sure about that now (but I can dream though lol).

If I have my way in Inquisition between the four of them, I want to make Michel Emperor of the Orlesian Empire. To the Fade with the rest of the Blighters.

Probably why I loved The Masked Empire so much, each character was nuanced and had their flaws, and it didn't seem forced; they seemed like real people.
That being said, I don't like Michel as a person, but I'd love to see him again in Inquisition.

Michel was also my favorite character in the book. I was really rooting for him at the end.
His quest for redemption is one that I hope to be able to help him with in DA:I.

My guess is that there will be a mission where we choose to help either Imshael (offering some supernatural means of power or something important to the plot) or Michel (offering his service or also something essential to the plot, having to fight the one you oppose.

At first I kinda thought he could've been Blackwall (after parting ways with Gaspard, met wardens and underwent Joining? But after reading more about Blackwall my theory was dashed upon the rocks).
I hope he will be in it, either as a random encounter or perhaps joined up with Briala and her freedom fighters.
He'd totally be my bro ![]()

I loved how Ser Michel de Chevin stuck to his word throughout the book. My favorite moment was when he dueled Gaspard, which is also one of my favorite characters. I hope Ser Chevin have a good ending in Inquisition.

Pretty sure he'll show up in Inquisition. At the end he wants to track down the demon he unleashed, right? So I bet our inquisition will stumble on him while trying to kill the demon as well.
I personally didn't like him, as his self hatred that he showed by being racist is just not my cup of tea.

Michel was definitely one of my favorite characters in the book! What can I say? I love my contradictions and hypocrites in fiction. ...And I should totally re-read that book.
I fully expect to see him somewhere in Inquisition, even if it's only a mention in a sidequest that leads to Imshael.
By the way: can anyone remember if there was a physical description of him in the books? I wanted to try a fansketch and realized I had no idea. Did he have short hair or longish? What color was it? Was the build beefy or lean? I had no trouble picturing his movements and mannerisms and general sense of his personality/behavior when reading, but I realized I had no clue what he physically looked like.

I don't recall any detailed descriptions of him, but I rather like this fan art of him. I have accepted this image of him into my mind's eye, which might lead to problems should he appear in Inquisition.Michel was definitely one of my favorite characters in the book! What can I say? I really liked Imshael, who I thought was entertaining in a very sick way, so I would love to see Michel because that would mean Imshael is probably close ![]()
I think Michel was an interesting character, but the fact he chose to honour his promise to Briala rather than Celene kind of threw me off.
I just can't really get over the "chevalier honour code" because their definition of honour is nothing like mine haha. It's not limited to Michel, Gaspard was the same too.

I can totally see that happening. Me? I going for Imshael. Orlais has dozens of Chevailers and how many ambiguous spirits? That's right.

I think that it would be great to see Michel in inquisition, especially since I don't feel that his and Imshael's story was complete (which leads to me believe they were being set up for inclusion in inquisition)

Eh id rather have a Chevalier who actually upholds honor than a demon who's most likely going to betray you when it can. Being one of the best fighters in series and someone you can count on to the end, hes definitely going to be my choice if given those choices

If there's a choice in siding between the two of them, hopefully they will make Imshael's offer actually tempting. Maybe something like 3 extra talent points or something. In earlier games, the temptations of demons have been pretty paltry.

I saw the voice actor thing as well lasr night but since I found the info on a fansite I didn't want to post anything about it. I'm super stocked to see him in game. Having an option to betray him in favor for Ishmael would be nice but personally I'm not going to betray Michel.
I would love to see him & Harding as companions in DA4 but that is a completely different topic.

This is my hunch too. It seemed like Imshael was looking forward to the chaos about to be brought to bear on Thedas, so bumping into him and therefore Michel would be a good possibility.

Incidentally, when I picture Imshael I see Crowley from Supernatural. I believe they described him when Michel first meets him as looking human, wearing a long dark coat and having dark hair. I might be making that up completely, but ever since that scene he's been Mark Sheppard to me.

Remember that Imshael is a Forgotten One, like Gaxgang and Xekenbeck, and as such extremely old, powerful, and not to be trusted. Obviously, as demonstrated by him awakening the Eluvians, he could be incredibly useful.
If there's a choice in siding between the two of them, hopefully they will make Imshael's offer actually tempting. Maybe something like 3 extra talent points or something. In earlier games, the temptations of demons have been pretty paltry.
You'd betray Thedas for a Paltry three talent points?
