To be honest almost all of them, but my mains were.
KOTOR: Bastila,Carth,and T3-M4.
KOTOR2:Brianna,Visas Marr,and again T3-M4.
Still I change the teams to fit the scenarios, but I guess all are my favorites, except for Miss wannabe Palpatine. ![]()
HK-47. I always liked his remarks.
Love: Jolee, Carth, Canderous, HK, Bastila
Decent: Mission
Yawn: Juhani, Zalbaar, TeeThree
KotOR: HK-47, Jolee, Bastila
KotOR II: Kreia, Bao Dur, Visas Marr
HK-47 for the humor by far. Kreia for the compelling and legendary storytelling and philosophy behind the Force and Revan.
KOTOR 1: T3-M4, HK-47, Bastila, and Carth
KOTOR 2: T3-M4, HK-47, Mical, and Handmaiden (Briana)
My top favorite of my companion in KOTOR 1 is Bastila. And second game is Disciple (Mical)
Bastila is the greatest companion in the history of games ![]()
My memory is foggy, but (only talking about KOTOR):
Often used: Bastila Shan, HK-47, Jolee Bindo,
Sometimes used: Mission Vao, Carth Onasi
Rarely used: Canderous Ordo, Juhani*, T3-M4, Zaalbar
*I was young when I played and I killed her by accident lol
My favorite might barely be Jolee. I like Grey Jedi concept, though SW lore purists seem to sometimes despise it.
KOTOR was one of the easiest BW games for me to switch characters though. I didn't form super strong attachment to any, so I could easily, for example, replace HK-47 with Canderous Ordo for a bit.
KOTOR: Bastila, Carth, Mission (and I killed her T_T)
KOTOR2: Atton, Kreia (she was kinda suspicious, but I really enjoyed listening to her) and Visas (and again, I killed her too T_T)
Jolee. I pretty much agree with everything he says about the Council.
My favorite companions for the first game have to be Bastila and Carth. I'm pretty strict on maintaining a canon party, and it usually involves the first few members you get. Considering their individual personalities and their banter between each other, they're great to have. Not to mention Carth is the most useful non-Jedi party member.
For KOTOR II, it's the same thing. Atton and Kreia are my two favorite members. Kreia's interesting, and considering she's the Exile's mentor (sort of?), it's nice to have her. Atton on the other hand is quite an enjoyable and humorous fellow. Same rules apply regarding combat (though Handmaiden may be better than he).
Carth and Canderous for the first game. I have yet to play KOTOR II, but, going by youtube clips, I like Atton and Visas Marr a lot.
KotOR 1 - JUHANI, no contest... Unlike some, she's not an instant, ready-made sidekick; I like the process of gaining her trust past that feral edge. She's got the most interesting backstory, some real pain in her past, and again her feral qualities make it all the more interesting. And I like her markings... and, yes, the adorable Russian accent...
(Also like Mission, Bastila and Jolee).
KotOR 2 - VISAS. I like her moral ambiguity and her utter, absolute refusal to wear a daft bikini and dance for a reeking Hutt pervert. Also, her softly spoken words are kind've alluring, even when she's talking about genocide...
(Also like Brianna (Handmaiden), Bao Dur and, despite the fact that she's a possibly deranged, probably megalomaniacal and certainly dangerous Manipulative Witch, I can't help but like Kreia. Well, maybe not actually "like", more "find fascinating".
A bit late to the party so forgive me ![]()
For me it is the "combination" of followers that make the games better. How they interact with one another. When Bastilla puts Mission on her butt, Mission and Carth's banter, Carth teasing Bastilla about losing her lightsaber, and so on make the games more enjoyable for me. Tough to single out a singular one ![]()
KOTOR 1 - Jolee, HK-47
KOTOR 2 - HK-47, Bao Durr
KotOR 1: Carth, Jolee, Juhani
KotOR 2: Bao-Dur, Kreia Disciple/Mical (Yeah I'm a freak I know, but Greg Ellis!) ![]()
Bao-Dur is my favorite though. I loved the familiarity you have with him and they have such a easy going relationship. Totally wish you could have romanced him.
Although there are no companions that I absolutely hate in the KotOR series, but Brianna comes the closest.
KOTOR 1: Bastila, Canderous, Jolee Bindo
KOTOR 2: Atton, Kreia, Mira
If i was forced to choose one(Who? Why?
) I'd choose Bastila and Atton. First one for Jennifer Hale mostly and Atton was remarkable, too funny.
Frankly, I liked all of them in the first game.
If I had to choose an absolut favorite I would say HK-47. I really like that he's a really dark and evil companion compared to some of the more light side oriented characters and his dark humerous statements are always funny to hear.
But really, all of hem are in my opinion well written and enjoyable (yes, even Carth). Bastilla, Jolee and Carth have well written and deep personalities with some kind of tragic backstory, Juhani was interesting with her rage issues and is kind of your apprentice during the game, Canderous gives an interesting view on the warrior-culture of the Mandalorians, Mission Vao is really like a 13 year old with authority issues, Zaalbar doesn't say that much but given his back-story that's still understandable (he's my least favourite though) and T3-M4 is really just a fun little guy.
It's difficult to pick just one, so I'll categorize, per game:
"Gameplay" is just that, whether it's numbers, encounters, or some other mechanic.
"Story" is how central to the overall plot, how much they grab your attention.
"Memorable" is similar to the previous, but on a more "meta" level.
KOTOR1
Gameplay:
Jolee - I play as a Sentinel, so I have enough Force power and combat prowess to hold my own, but Jolee is a lifesaver when he can use Force Valor AND Force Storm and still have enough juice to heal the party.
Story:
Bastila - I honestly was not expecting her to turn to the darkside on the Forbidden Planet, being able to turn her back to the light was a heart-wrenching scene for me. And learning that she was more or less the one to "reset" your mind... WOW.
Memorable:
Carth - he's the first companion you get, and out of all the non-Jedi characters, he's the only one who keenly feels just how "powerless" he is amongst all these Force-users, and HE STILL TRIES ANYWAY.
KOTOR2
Gameplay:
Kreia - Her "Mentor" ability is probably the biggest reason I always have her in my party; in any RPG, anything that increases XP gained is #1 on my list of things to do/get for my character. That, and her high Wisdom score and large pool of Force Points combined with the Force Link to my character makes her a great support in combat.
Story:
Kreia/Atton* - when Kreia shows her true colors (or perhaps, a lack thereof) it's expected, but not in the way that you would expect. In a way, you feel as if you knew it all along, but simply didn't realize it until now. The fact that she's evil, but not utterly so, and yet still "loves" you in a way... in the end, even though I know she used me, I can't be angry at her.
Memorable:
Atton/Kreia* - finding out Atton's history, and just WHAT his big secret was that Kreia discovered, seeing the layers behind Atton's behavior... bravo to Atton's voice actor. Kudos to Kreia's voice actor too, since she has made me think more than in any other game. Her brutal deconstruction of what the Force is, and what it represents, there are so many layers to what she says.
*Atton and Kreia fit both categories very well, Kreia is a more direct connection, and more directly responsible, but Atton has the perspective of the galaxy at large, and has a LOT of hidden depth.
Been a while since I played either(just getting back into KotOR now), but from the little I can remember:
KotOR: Canderous, HK-47
KotOR2: Kreia, Mandalore, Bao-Dur was pretty good.
I have a soft spot for T3-M4 in both.
Bastila and Canderous
