Then explain why the mabaris don't freak me out?
Because they aren't creepy, they could be scary, but not creepy. But too be fair, I'm not a Psychologist. I can't give all of the answers.

Seriously, spiders are just misunderstood. They're cute!
Especially the ones whose bites cause necrotizing fasciitis. That's pretty crazy. Am I not helping?
I'm also an acrachnophobe, I think the most important question to ask is...they don't do the overpower thing...do they?
They wanted to cut down on moments where the player wasn't in control of the PC, so I'm going to guess not.
They're animals, not eldritch abominations from outer space..
False. All spiders are eldritch abominations summoned from the depths of the abyss. One day, all they have claimed will be recalled back to their domain to serve the Archspider, Arachno Von Creepylegs.
I think you're looking at it the wrong way. You have a problem. You have a fear of something, and the feeling is so overpowering it keeps you from doing things (virtual things even!). Your problem is not the fact that this game has spiders in it. Your problem is that you're terrified of spiders. Even though it will require much more of your time in the short run than just working around your fear, being proactive and seeking professional help in solving your problem will pay way bigger dividends in your life.
I'm not saying it's easy, and personally I have never struggled to come on top of a phobia as an adult (though I have as a kid), but everyone struggles with something they don't like about themselves and is hard to change. The fact that you are this way now doesn't mean it's an intrinsic part of who you are and cannot be changed.
Anyway, my 2 cents, hope it helps, and most importantly, hope it didn't sound too Oprah-y or whatever

Wait, there are spiders whose bites contain flesh-eating bacteria? Or are you just confusing that with ordinary necrotoxins?
good opportunity for exposure therapy OP
....or you can find a friend who will fight the spiders for you

I regret opening this thread and for those ( Fidite) posting spider pictures burn in hell
Dude, I put it in spoiler tags and made it more than obvious that people having issues with spiders shouldn't open the spoiler. If you open it despite that well meaning warning, it's not my bloody fault!
Grab your attitude and get lost.
wow that's just sad.

I assume s/he's referring to things like the Brown Recluse.
Most adorable spider EVER!!!!!!
Hey I haven't actually seen 'blinky' (I've been avoiding trailers and the like, like the plague to keep myself as spoiler free as possible. Could someone post a picture of it, and spoiler tag it so people afraid of spiders don't have a conniption fit.

Yeah, the Brown Recluse. Its bite doesn't technically cause necrotizing fasciitis, but it definitely predisposes the tissue to secondary infection.
Edit: "Definitely" may be too strong a word. Many things cause secondary infection of all sorts, anyway. Had to look it up to be sure. Here's an abstract of a study on the NIH site in which 2 of 31 cases of necrotizing fasciitis were traced to a brown recluse bite: http://www.ncbi.nlm....pubmed/11243548

Blinky Ahoy! Don't say we didn't warn you (arachno-trypophobes beware):

Spoiler
I want a Blinky as a pet! He would devour my enemies and crap out their souls!

My theory is that Blinky is some kind of Greater Terror or Fear Demon. The Lesser Terrors have the same 'holes/eyes' thing on their heads and are super spindly, whereas Fear demons seem to have spider-like legs coming out of their back. So either would work, or a combination of the two.
Greater ****-Yourself Demon.
There was this huge spider hanging from the ceiling 2 days ago, and I killed it with a magazine.
At that exact moment, somebody texted me and my phone went DING.
I totally leveled up, guys.
An entire magazine?
Was it one of those throw-shoe-back-at-you spiders:
