At least they don't have the mega-sized Monstrous Spiders like they did in DA2.
....Yes, they do.

What about Wolverine? You know... the Canadian mutant...
He can drown and die via radiation.
Their lives are a tragedy and you should be sympathetic to their fate even if it's necessary to kill them.
Thank you for making my point better than I was making it.
Here is another piccy of Blinky taken from the achievements topic (probably not a good idea for major arachnophobes to look at it as he is BIG). All I want to know if it it can bleed. Because "If it can bleed... we can kill it!"

Bleeeeeeeeegh....I'm pretty sure those aren't eyes ![]()
Dogs don't concern themselves with morality: right and wrong, better or worse, these higher concepts are meaningless to most animals. Humans bred them for war without their(dog) consent. Their lives are a tragedy and you should be sympathetic to their fate even if it's necessary to kill them.
Why? Why should I be sympathetic? It's my opinion, it's how I have grown to deal with stuff like this and no matter what argument you use to battle me with, you will not change that. Let's just leave this be. This thread is about arachnophobia, not whether killing a dog is a good or bad thing. If you want that thread, go ahead and make it but this discussion is over between us. I don't care whether you think I am a bad person, you think what you want to think. And no, I'm not leaving this discussion because you've won, because you haven't; I'm just trying to be a better person, and not poke the bear.

I reckon they are eggs which continuously spawn smaller spiders. Sort of like the lambent leviathan in Gears of War 3 where those crawly things crawl out of its exploded eye.

Whatever they are, they are creepy as ****! I have to give BioWare a lot of credit for creating something so visceral.

Oh, please no! The last thing I need to see is clutches of mini-Big B's swarming everywhere. Swarming is bad.

Yes, they do outdo themselves on the creepy. What have they had before. There was the Banshee from ME3, the Thresher Maws from ME1. Dragon Age, I can't think of anything of the top of my head but I'm sure theres something.

Woah...you're insinuating too much. I respect your opinion and I wasn't trying to be combative; my apologies if I came off that way. I was simply stating my thoughts on the matter. I'd be happy to end the discussion here.

Thanks! I put a lot into that one.
Little fact, I'm intensely trypophobic (fear of holes and specific hole patterns). To the point of dry heaving, skin itching and panic suffering. When I first saw the concept I was entranced, like a deer caught in headlights. Making it was definitely....an experience. Nothing like facing your own fears or something along those lines....

Ahaha thanks for chiming in! I was curious if any of the people working on creating Blinky were having trypophobic episodes every day at work
I guess looking at it day after day would start to burn out the panic-sensors after a while.

Oooh, the Banshee was awesome! It was creepy in that psycho-thriller way where it never let you forget it used to be a person.
I found the Thresher Maws creepy in a very different way (more insectoid, like a centipede crossed with a praying mantis), but I have to admit I felt a little better about them after
I think Big Blinky really brings DA up to that level.

Sorry, it wasn't directly aimed at you either. It was aimed at everyone trying to tell me, well, debate with me on that topic. Sorry again. I just quoted you because of the line you wrote.

You made that!? Wow. Just... wow.
I want to ask you, how do you go about making concept designs for things like this? And I was also hoping maybe you could post some of the early sketches of Blinky (more for myself actually) because I really want to be a concept artist and anything that could help with my own artwork (not going to steal it) would be greatly appreciated. Ofcourse, you don't actually have to do any of that if you don't want too.

We need an archery minigame where we pop the gross flesh sacs from rainbow dolphinback (this is the Fade, right?).
Thanks! I put a lot into that one.

Like Boudicae said, thanks for sharing! And for teaching me a new word. Although doing a Google image search for it on my 16" laptop screen was perhaps not my brightest idea ever... >.<
Really looking forward to seeing Big B in action! (Hope you don't mind these nicknames!

Sorry, credit for the conceptual design goes to the concept art team. I believe it was drawn by Casper Konefal. Brilliant artist! I fashioned the sculpt and built the game model, textures and shaders.

Ah. No worry then, I just thought I'd ask. I mean, how often do you get to ask that of someone working on a massive game? Not very often.

I'm imagining something like this happening:
"I need to make this monster scarier. Would a slimier texture inside the holes increase the gross factor?" *fiddles with computer* "Ack! Ack! Blech! Yes it does!"
Muster this fear into hate, muster that hate into purpose.

True. Always ask. I just don't want any undeserved credit, that should always go to the right people in these cases!

Haha! Yes, there was a lot of collaboration on getting the final result. If it didn't make my spine twinge, I wasn't doing it right. Particularly with the eyes-but-not-really-eyes bits..... ![]()
Why do you loathe that?
Particularly with the eyes-but-not-really-eyes bits.....
And now I'm really intrigued...
Why is November 18 so far away!? ![]()
