There's never zero possibility. Mods will exist, sooner or later.

Sure, but to what extent? ME mods had been limited to textures and weapon stats adjustments for almost the complete lifetime of the trilogy. If you want to get, say, a new hairstyle into the game, you'll have to create a 3d model and tell the game to use it. It's quite possible that people will never figure out how to do that.

I agree. That's like saying it's possible to grow food in the desert. Maybe it will keep you alive but it would sure taste like ****

In other words, it might be possible to make a texture mod or two, but without a toolkit the quality of mods is sure to suffer greatly.

Unfortunately it looks like Frostbite is just not mod friendly. That's not to say that some might not be able to eventually be able to mod it. But so far it doesn't look promising.

People actually have figured out how to do that with ME3. And given the more mod friendly background of DA, I think DA modders will figure it out sooner or later.

Wow...so the mods for DAI does not look promising at all huh?...

I will still get the PC version, like I always do for this type of game.

And will still hope that moding for DAI will be a good one.

Perhaps Bioware will surprise us with the ToolKit and say..."Here you go...go nuts making mods..."

Hey you guys. I have only one question. So is it really true that there are zero possibility of mods in DAI. If it is true, then it will make me very sad. I love mods.

Okie, thanks.

I doubt it. Here is why I don't think so.

Mass Effect 3 is not very "modding friendly". There is no handy program for Mass Effect 3 (that I'm aware of) that makes modding easy.

However there are mods for Mass Effect 3. These include graphics enhancers, alternate endings and the ability to create your own class just to name a few.

You said "ZERO POSSIBILITY". Nope. It's still possible. In fact it's impossible to make modding impossible in a game.

It will just be more tricky to do in DAI.

Considering BioWare doesn't own the FB3 engine, it's highly unlikely they could do such a thing even if they wanted to.

I imagine we'll get very limited mods, more limited even than what we saw from ME3 since this is an engine that people are far less familiar with.

Oh wow...I didn't know that it's..."impossible to make modding impossible in a game." That's certainly is very reassuring to hear. I just love mods, you know. Maybe I love them too much I guess...lol..

But, yeah, thanks for the insightful info. Appreciate it much. In fact thank you all of yous.

Saying that it's possible to make a game unmoddable is like saying it is possible to make a server unhackable.

Bioware have simply made it extremely tricky to mod Dragon Age Inquisition.

Someone with the skill will eventually pull it off, with great difficulty of course.

Okie...may I ask your opinion then...

from a scale of 1 to 10, and 10 being like Skyrim,

where on the scale do you think DAI is on. Thanks.

No mods at the start of things, and looks like its unlikely for future support.

With multiplayer a ascpet of the game now would highly doubt things will be mod friendly.

I have done 3Dmodeling before its easy as far as the tools go but you need the creativity and know how to import it into a game engine I like to play mods but don't care to make things for games I took one class for 3D and it was fun but I would need to go to school for gaming if I wanted to attempt that.

Question really is, is anyone out there that mods really that interested in the hassle that will come with modding DA:I to do it

My attitude is, if the game is good enough it shouldnt need modding, for me the biggest let down in BioWare games has been there CC, personal opinion there atrocious, thats what i have always modded, that and some armor/weapons i can go without, they was only put in by me for "variety" cause i replay the games so much.

If they nail there CC an leave the no helmet option in i be happy an in no need to mod anything

EA tends to hardcode their games to be unmoddable for the purpose of profits for DLC, but Bioware games usually seem to have fewer restrictions. Though no onr's been able to make the huge mods of the kind that were possible for games like KOTOR and Origins, people have still got mods around for newer games too. Unless EA forcibly locks off modding, mods'll get made.

I don't think it's DLC profit. One, PC doesn't have that much of the market share that mods matter yet. Two, Skyrim shows that people will buy DLC despite mods. Three, horse amour still made money.

While I'm sure a lot of mods have good applications.... I can live in peace, at least for a while, without the soul-destroying "White, blonde-haired blue-eyed Vivienne/Josephine" mods. At least there won't be any of that garbage for a few seconds.

I actually bought the DLC because of the mods

I can't see myself nowadys playing DAII for example without an equip your party members mod. In the same way I'm sure Inquisition will need mods to fix whatever terrible design decsions the game has. But unfortunately, I guess we won't be seeing those mods.

We might get some basic texture mods, but those don't really make the game more replayable or fix anything.

Console players pretty much never get to use supported mods, so I'm used to that. So far, I have always been able to simply choose clothing/armour based on my preferred aesthetics, and then simply exploit the game's RPG system to min-max, thus eliminating any need to use the most mathematically-effective armour (example.)

Of course, not everyone can, or even wants to do that. But so far, I have no problem calling DA:O, Skyrim, Fallout 3, and Fallout: New Vegas great games despite not having been able to use mods with them.

I actually bought DLC for mods. I wasn't at all interested in the Dawnguard DLC until every decent mod required assets from it. In fact, I picked up Hearthfire because I got tired of looking up the "Non-Hearthfire" version of every mod I wanted.

That said, I'm not sure how well my experience reflects the actual economy. Obviously, modding support increases the longevity of a game, but I'm not sure if the effort needed to add mod support is outweighed by extra sales later on.

10 being as easy as one can get. Let's face it modding is not easy. So yes 10 being Skyrim.

1 being Mass Effect 3 levels of modding. Not at all easy, but still possible.

I'll say 1.
