ME3 is for sale on Origin right now, which means there is a slight chance someone might come here for the first time, so I'd not call bumping this thread entirely pointless... though I am sure it can feel that way after 14 pages Since I did find this thread useful, I volunteer to do my share of bumping if/when necessary so that it stays on top of the subforum!

There used to be other guys who came by and bumped the thread, but for the past few weeks it's been mostly me. So yeah, bored. And despite all the capitals, asterisks, polite requests in the title, 90 of the posters recently have strolled straight by it and started a new thread, and posted with no time zone, language, level, or platform info. Some didn't even leave their gamer tags..... and then of course, they won't find games, and will give up right away - despite all the attempts here to help.

 

So yeah, feeling this is all still pointless if no one will read the thread regardless of how many times it's bumped.

I feel your pain, which is shared by most people in customer service and tech writing, no doubt. No matter how much you try to direct people to the right information, you can't save them all.

In the interest of raising spirits around here, posting my info in the correct thread - which I was lead to by reading this thread - has lead to a number of friend requests, so there are people who are profiting from your work!

That said, I hope I can offer one suggestion, coming from someone who has fresher eyes, and maybe a closer point of view to the users you are targeting with this thread: when I first came around this subforum, the multiple warnings in the title did put me a bit off; I am wondering if they don't detract from the thread's effectiveness in general? Maybe putting what the thread is about (advice to posters) before all the warnings (urgent, read first, ...) might inspire more newcomers into opening it?

 

Content-wise, I wonder if adding the tricks involved in getting the in-game overlay either working (e.g. by disabling some programs until the game is running), or bypassing it (e.g. run the game in borderless window) would be worthwile? I certainly began experiencing this kind of problems after posting in this subforum

The thread title has gradually acquired more asterisks, more capitals, more stridency, in an attempt to get it to be seen so people might "Read this first".

 

As far as the overlay stuff, not sure it's needed, since this was not meant to be a general guide to ME3MP, but to finding people to play with and getting a game.
